Given the growing importance of promoting tourism as a key strategy to address the challenges of Local Extinction Risk and Population Reduction, this study examines the economic impacts of the tourism industry and explores its inter-industry linkages. To clarify this, this study analyzes the differences in the economic ripple effects among intertwined industries across six metropolitan regions using input–output analyses. The methodology applies three approaches: Input-Output analysis (combined with the hypothetical extraction method), network analysis (based on proximity) and inter-city centrality. The results of the analyses are as follows. First, while the tourism industry depends on regional demand, it also exerts a strong effect on generating successive production linkages within the regional economy. Second, the results from the degree centrality analysis (Social Network Analysis) were found to be consistent with those derived from the hypothetical extraction method. Furthermore, the industries most closely associated with tourism were identified as C01_Food and Beverages, G_Wholesale, Retail Trade with Brokerage Services, and L_Real Estate Services. Third, the characteristics of the tourism industry's linkage structure were able to be identified. Therefore, strategies need to be explored to integrate tourism with the region's specialized industries in order to revitalize local tourism.

최근 지방소멸 및 인구 감소 문제 해결을 위한 대안으로 관광 활성화가 중요해짐에 따라, 본 연구는 관광산업의 경제적 파급효과와 산업 간 연계구조를 분석하고 있다. 이를 위해 산업연관분석으로 6개 광역권의 산업 간 파급효과 차이를 분석하고 산업연관분석과 가상추출법, 네트워크 분석으로 세 가지 방법을 적용하였으며, 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 광역권의 관광산업은 지역에서 생산유발계수와 감응도계수가 높게 나타났으며, 이는 관광산업이 수요에 대해 의존하는 동시에 지역 경제의 연쇄적으로 생산을 파급하는 효과가 높게 작용하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 가상추출법과 단위구조 방법론을 적용한 사회네트워크 분석의 연결중심성 분석 결과가 유사하게 나타났다. 여기서 관광산업과 연관이 높은 산업은 C01_음식료품, G_도소매 및 상품중개서비스, L_부동산서비스로 나타났으며, 관광산업은 공통적으로 전후방 모두 주요한 위치를 차지하여 지역 경제구조를 매개하고 산업 간 흐름을 연결하는 기능을 하고 있다. 또한 수도권과 비수도권의 차이가 있었으며, 수도권은 M_전문, 과학 및 기술 서비스, 충청권과 전라권, 경북권, 경남권은 A_농림수산품이 상위 4개 산업에 속한 것으로 나타나 산업의 주요한 구조적인 차이를 보여주고 있었다. 셋째, 사회네트워크 분석의 근접중심성을 살펴본 결과, 관광산업은 공공행정, 교육 등과 같은 내향 서비스 산업과 농림수산품, 기타 제조업 등의 외향 산업의 영향을 흡수하고 확산하는 구조임을 추측할 수 있다. 따라서 관광산업이 단순하게 관광객 유치에 그치지 않고 지역 경제의 생산을 유발하고 산업 간 연계하는 주요한 역할을 한다는 것을 보여주고 있으며, 특히 수도권은 전문⋅지식서비스업, 비수도권은 1차 산업을 중심으로 관광산업과 연관성이 높아, 지역 특성에 맞는 차별화된 정책 수립이 필요하다.
