This study critically reviewed the KSL curriculum, focusing on KSL teaching and learning methods and teaching support strategies. This study compared and reviewed the teaching support strategies within the Australian EAL/D curriculum to identify the need for improved teaching support strategies for KSL teachers. Specifically, this study examined the teaching and learning methods within the KSL curriculum, identified a lack of specific teaching support for Korean language teachers, and emphasized the need for effective teaching and learning methods and teaching support policies. Four effective teaching strategies proposed within the Australian EAL/D curriculum were presented: utilizing students' cultural and linguistic resources, building shared knowledge, ensuring pedagogies of entitlement and language support, and considering the school learning environment. This study also provided examples of teaching strategies applicable to other subject learning. The significance of this study lies in its examination of the specific teaching and learning methods and strategies, along with its review of the teaching strategies within the Australian EAL/D curriculum, which provides effective teaching support strategies for KSL teachers.

본 연구는 한국어(KSL) 교육과정 내 교수·학습 방법과 교수 전략에 관련된 내용을 비판적으로 살펴본 후, 호주의 EAL/D 교육과정 내 교수 전략과의 비교, 검토를 통해 한국어 교사에 대한 교수 지원 전략이 필요함을 밝히는 데에 목적을 둔다. 특히, 한국어 교육과정 내 교수-학습 방법과 관련한 내용이 구체적으로 기술되지 않아 교사에게 실질적인 도움이 되지 못함을 밝히고, 한국어 학습자 대상 수업에서 교사에게 지원할 수 있는 교수 지원 내용과 방안이 필요함을 역설하였다. 그리고 호주의 EAL/D 교육과정에서 제시되어 있는 효과적인 교수 전략인 학생의 문화적 자원과 언어적 자원 활용하기, 공유된 지식 구축하기, 교육 받을 자격과 언어 지원 보장하기, 학교 학습 상황 고려하기의 네 가지 교수 전략을 제시하고 교과 학습 시에 적용 가능한 교사의 교수 전략을 실제 예를 보여줌으로써 한국어 교육과정에도 구체적인 교수 지원 전략과 관련한 내용이 포함되어야 함을 주장하였다. 본 연구에서 논의한 한국어 교육과정 내 구체적인 교수·학습 방법과 전략의 필요성, 그리고 호주 EAL/D 교육과정 내에 제시되어 있는 교수 전략에 대한 검토는 한국어 학습자 대상의 수업을 담당하고 있는 교사들에게 효과적인 교수 지원 전략이 필요하다는 것을 제안하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.
