The primary objective of this study is to explore a model of the Donghak view of humanity that is relevant to contemporary society. To achieve this, the study conducts a comparative analysis of the anthropological perspectives of Choi Je-woo (Suun) and Choi Si-hyung (Haewol) against Western humanism and post-humanism, respectively. In terms of methodology, this research utilizes both literature review and analysis of empirical data. The main arguments of this study are as follows: First, the most authentic Donghak view of humanity paradoxically embraces ‘de-Donghak’ openness. Second, the contemporary Donghak perspective centers on an ecological egalitarian consciousness that transcends anthropocentrism. In essence, a new paradigm for the Donghak view of humanity can be discovered through a modern reinterpretation of Haewol’s ecological egalitarianism. The findings of this study indicate the following: First, humans are neither rulers nor managers of nature, but equal constituent members within it. Second, it is fallacious to evaluate the worth of non-human entities based solely on economic efficiency or human convenience. Third, the issue of equality among humans is inseparable from the issue of equality between humans and the global ecosystem.

이 연구의 목적은, 최제우와 최시형의 인간관을 각각 서구 인본주의 및 포스트 휴머니즘과 비교 분석하여 현대사회에 적합한 동학적 인간 관은 과연 어떤 모습인지를 탐색하려는 데에 있다. 이를 위한 연구 방 법으로는 문헌 연구를 활용했다. 이 연구의 내용은, 첫째, 가장 동학적인 동학의 인간관은 역설적으 로 탈동학적 개방성을 수용한다. 둘째, 현대의 동학적 인간관은 인간 중심주의를 넘어선 생태적 평등 의식을 핵심으로 한다. 요컨대 새로운 동학적 인간관은 해월식 생태 평등의 현대적 해석에서 찾을 수 있다. 이 연구의 결과는, 첫째, 인간은 자연의 지배자나 관리자가 아니라 평등한 구성원이다. 둘째, 비인간에 대해 경제적 효율성이나 인간의 편 의에 따라 내려지는 가치 평가는 오류이다. 그리고, 셋째, 인간의 평등 문제와 인간과 지구 생태계 사이의 평등 문제는 서로 분리될 수 없다.
