This study collected and analyzed news articles related to foreigners and international students reported in the South Korean media over the past five years using text mining techniques. Articles were collected through web crawling, and preprocessing steps such as morpheme analysis, stopword removal, word frequency analysis, and text network analysis were conducted. The frequency analysis showed that keywords such as “foreigner,”“international student,” and “university” appeared most frequently. Centrality analysis revealed that “international student” and “foreigner” held the most prominent positions in the network. Furthermore, network visualization allowed us to understand the semantic associations among major keywords. This study offers structural insights into how the media frames discourse around international students and can serve as foundational data for improving policy formulation and social perception.

본 연구는 최근 5년간 국내 언론에 보도된 외국인 및 유학생이 동시에 포함된 관련 기사를 수집하고, 이를 텍스트 마이닝 기법을 활용하여 분석하였다. 기사 원문은 웹 크롤링을 통해 수집하였으며, 수집된 텍스트는 형태소 분석과 불용어 제거, 단어 빈도 분석, 텍스트 네트워크 분석 등의 전처리 과정을 거쳤다. 단어 빈도 분석 결과, ‘외국인’, ‘유학생’, ‘대학’ 등의 키워드가 높은 빈도를 보였으며, 중심성 분석을 통해 ‘유학생’과 ‘외국인’이 핵심적인 위치에 있음을 확인하였다. 텍스트 네트워크 시각화를 통해 주요 단어 간의 의미적 연결 구조도 파악하였다. 본 연구는 외국인 유학생 담론의 구조적 특성을 제시함으로써, 관련 정책 수립과 사회적 인식 개선을 위한 기초자료 로 활용될 수 있다.
