This study aims to examine the changes in cultural content presented in the 2022 High School Vietnamese Culture textbook, which has been implemented in schools since the 2025 academic year, by comparing it with the 2015 edition. Based on the curriculum structure and achievement standards, the study focused on analyzing the organization and cultural components of both textbooks. The findings indicate that the 2022 textbook was restructured from a specialized subject into an integrated elective course, which reduced the vocabulary load from approximately 1,200 to 300 items and shifted the descriptive format toward Korean-centered instruction. The six cultural categories-Vietnam Overview, Daily Life, Language, Tradition, and Arts-were more evenly represented, with increased attention to linguistic culture, regional festivals, and students’ career exploration compared to the previous edition. These changes reflect the goals of the 2022 Revised Curriculum, which emphasizes intercultural understanding, career exploration, and cross-curricular learning. The study further suggests the need for continuous monitoring of textbook content and systematic support from educational authorities to enhance teachers’ professional competence.

본 연구는 2025학년도부터 학교 현장에서 적용되고 있는 2022 개정 교 육과정 고등학교 베트남 문화 교과서의 문화 내용을 2015 개정 고등학교 문화 교과서와 비교, 분석하여 그 변화 양상을 파악하고자 하였다. 이를 위 해 교육과정 상의 체계 및 성취기준을 기반으로 두 교과서의 구성 방식과 문화 내용을 중점적으로 검토하였다. 2022 개정 교과서는 전문 교과에서 보통 교과의 융합 선택 과목으로 전환되면서 어휘 수가 1,200개 내외에서 300개 내외로 대폭 축소되고, 우리말 중심으로 기술 방식이 바뀐 것을 확인하였다. 문화 내용 요소로 ‘베트남 개관’, ‘생활 문화’, ‘언어문화’, ‘전통문 화’, ‘예술 문화’ 등을 포함한 6개 문화 범주가 균형 있게 반영되었으며, 특 히 언어문화 및 예술 문화 그리고 학생의 진로 탐색 측면이 강화된 것을 알 수 있었다. 이는 상호문화 이해, 진로 탐색, 교과 연계 활동 다양화 등 2022 개정 교육과정의 방향에 부합하게 개발된 결과라 할 수 있다. 본 연구는 또 한 교과서의 정확한 정보 전달 기능 수행을 위한 지속적인 교과서 모니터 링 체계와 현장 교사의 전문성 강화를 위한 연수와 지원을 제안하였다.
