This study attempted to identify the relationship among the metacognition, care efficacy, and clinical reasoning ability of nursing students, and to confirm the mediating effect of care efficacy in the relationship between metacognition and clinical reasoning ability. Data were collected from 165 fourth-year students enrolled in a nursing department in J city. The study period was conducted from September 9 to September 17, 2025 using a structured questionnaire. Data were analyzed using SPSS WIN 23.0, descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation coefficients, and Baron and Kenny’s three-step mediation regression analysis, and verified with the Sobel test. The study findings demonstrated that metacognition, caregiving efficacy, and clinical reasoning ability among nursing students were positively correlated, with the relationships reaching statistical significance. Caregiving efficacy partially mediated the relationship between metacognition and clinical reasoning ability. To enhance nursing students’ clinical reasoning ability, programs that enhance caregiving efficacy and metacognition are needed.

본 연구는 간호대학생의 메타인지, 돌봄효능감, 임상추론역량 간의 관계를 파악하고, 메타인지와 임상추론역량과의 관계에서 돌봄효능감의 매개효과를 확인하기 위해 시도되었다. 자료수집은 J시 소재한 일개 간호학과에 재학 중인 4학년 학 생 165명을 대상으로 하였다. 연구기간은 2025년 9월 9일부터 9월 17일까지 구조화된 설문지를 이용하여 실시하였다. 자료 분석은 SPSS WIN 23.0을 이용하여 기술통계, T검정, 분산분석, 피어슨 상관계수, Baron과 Kenny의 3단계 매개 회귀분석 을 하였고, Sobel test로 검증하였다. 연구결과 간호대학생의 메타인지, 돌봄효능감, 임상추론역량은 통계적으로 유의한 정적 상관관계로 나타났고, 메타인지와 임상추론역량과의 관계에서 돌봄효능감은 부분매개효과가 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 간호 대학생의 임상추론역량의 향상을 위해서는 돌봄효능감을 높이고 메타인지를 증진시키는 프로그램 개발이 필요하다.
