This study is a descriptive survey study was conducted to examine the influence of growth mindset and empathy on ethical values among nursing students. Data were collected from July 1 to July 21, 2024, using a self questionnaires from 128 nursing students enrolled in two universities located in Chungbuk and Jeonnam, South Korea. growth mindset, empathy ability, and ethical values were measured using standardized self report instruments. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation coefficients, and multiple regression analysis with SPSS/WIN 26.0. Ethical values showed significant positive correlations with growth mindset (r=.42, p<.001) and empathy (r=.20, p<.001). Factors significantly influencing ethical values were growth mindset (β=.34, p<.001) and the admission motive of ‘matching academic grades’ (β= –.44, p=.001), explaining 31.2% of the variance (F=8.15, p<.001). Based on these findings, it is suggested that nursing education programs incorporate learning environments that foster the development of growth mindset through curricular courses, coaching and mentoring programs, guest lectures, community engagement, and volunteer activities.

본 연구는 간호대학생을 대상으로 성장 마인드셋과 공감능력이 윤리적 가치관에 미치는 영향을 확인하고자 수행된 서술적 조사연구이다. 자료수집은 충북과 전남에 소재한 2개 대학교의 간호대학생 128명을 대상으로 2024 년 7월 1일부터 7월 21일까지 실시하였으며, 자가보고식 설문지를 통해 성장 마인드셋, 공감능력, 윤리적 가치관 측정도구를 사용하였다. 자료분석은 SPSS/WIN 26.0 프로그램을 이용하여 기술통계, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation coefficients, Multiple regression analysis를 시행하였다. 연구결과, 윤리적 가치관은 성장 마인드 셋(r=.42, p<.001), 공감능력(r=.20, p<.001)과 유의한 정적 상관관계를 보였다. 윤리적 가치관에 유의하게 영향을 미치는 요인은 성장 마인드셋(β=.34, p<.001)과 간호학과 지원동기 중 ‘성적에 맞춰서’(β=-.44, p=.001)이었으며, 회귀모형의 설명력은 31.2%로 나타났다(F=8.15, p<.001). 이상의 연구결과를 바탕으로 간호대학생의 성장 마인드 셋 증진을 위한 교육과정 내 교과목 구성, 코칭 및 멘토링, 외부특강, 사회참여 및 봉사활동 등 다양한 프로그램을 포함하는 학습환경 설계 마련이 필요할 것이다.
