This study based on the metafunctional theory of Systemic Functional Linguistics, analyzes the expressions of nominative case marker ellipsis in informal styles, using data from the . Morphologically, Korean belongs to agglutinative languages, and case markers are key elements for indicating grammatical relationships. Among them, nominative case markers function to explicitly indicate the position of the subject in a sentence. The purpose of this study is to identify the types and semantic impacts of nominative case marker ellipsis, and systematically examine the functional role of these omitted styles in discourse. The research findings reveal that the ellipsis of nominative case markers can be categorized into three types: pronoun subject + nominative case marker ellipsis, noun subject + nominative case marker ellipsis, and instances where such ellipsis is reinforced within the discourse structure. By analyzing each type of ellipsis through the metafunctions of systemic functional linguistics, the corresponding discourse characteristics were derived. At the level of ideational metafunction, ellipsis plays a role in highlighting the semantic importance of core participants and focusing on the relationships between participants. At the level of interpersonal metafunction, omission carries informality and intimacy, which helps shape the quality of the speaker-hearer relationship. At the level of textual metafunction, ellipsis functions to simplify the information structure, emphasize core information, and organize the discourse flow efficiently. Specifically, the ellipsis of nominative case markers in informal Korean styles is not a random grammatical omission, but a meaning-construction strategy of speakers. This study proves that the ellipsis of nominative case markers is not a simple grammatical variation, but a functional choice at the discourse level, and demonstrates that the Systemic Functional Linguistics approach is effective in understanding the discourse strategies of Korean speakers.

본 연구는 체계기능언어학의 메타기능 이론을 바탕으로 <온라인 게시 자료 말뭉치>에 나타나는 비공식적 문어체의 주격조사 생략 현상을 분석 하고자 하였다. 한국어는 형태론적으로 교착어에 속하며, 조사는 문법적 관계를 표시하는 중요한 요소이다. 그 중 주격조사는 문장에서 주어의 자리를 명시적으로 표시하는 기능을 수행한다. 본 연구의 목적은 주격조 사 생략의 유형과 의미적 영향을 규명하고, 이러한 생략이 담화 내에서 수행하는 기능적 역할을 체계적으로 고찰하는 데 있다. 분석 결과, 주격 조사의 생략은 대명사 주어 + 주격 생략, 명사 주어 + 주격 생략, 담화 구조상 주격 생략이 강화되는 사례 등의 세 가지 유형 으로 구분하며, 각각 생략 현상을 체계기능언어학의 메타기능으로 분석 함으로써 담화적 특성을 도출하였다. 관념적 메타기능 차원에서는 생략 이 주요 참여자의 의미적 중요성을 부각시키고 참여자 간 관계에 대한 초점을 집중시키는 역할을 한다. 대인적 메타기능 차원에서는 생략이 비 공식성과 친밀감을 표시하며 화자-청자 관계의 질을 구성하는 데 기여한 다. 텍스트적 메타기능 차원에서는 정보 구조를 단순화하고 핵심 정보를 부각시키며 담화의 흐름을 경제적으로 조직하는 기능을 수행한다. 즉, 한국어 비공식적 문어체에서의 주격조사 생략은 무작위적인 문법적 탈 락이 아니라 화자의 의도적 의미 구성 전략으로 작동함을 확인하였다. 본 연구는 주격조사 생략이 단순한 문법적 변이가 아니라 담화 차원에 서의 기능적 선택임을 입증하였으며, 한국어 화자의 담화 전략을 이해하 는 데 체계기능언어학적 접근이 유효함을 보여주었다.
