The purpose of this study is to review the symbolism of colors and patterns among the the stage costume design of K-pop Demon Hunters, a Netflix animation film. The scope of the review focuses on the stage costumes of Rumi, Mira and Joey, the main characters of K-pop girl group Huntr/x, and the research method is to examine the symbolism of traditional costume from the perspective of colors and patterns based on literature research on Korean traditional costume and stage costume images of performances released by K-pop Demon Hunters. As a result of the review, the traditional colors and patterns borrowed from the costume design of K-pop Demon Hunters appeared in the following patterns. Huntr/x's stage costumes deliver symbolic messages by strategically deploying colors based on the traditional five-way color system. Black is the strength and power of the warrior, yellow is the central character of the leader and a device that expresses core energy, and blue is the character's costume, which is important in trust, and red is used for the character's costume, which is important in vitality & tention, and the meaning of the five colors is modernly borrowed and reinterpreted globally in K-pop Demon Hunters' stage costumes. Traditional patterns highlight symbolism in costumes by modern reinterpreting various traditional patterns such as cloud pattern decorated on the jacket of the main character, lotus pattern decorated on the top, Sipjangsaeng pattern(mountain), shoulder decoration, waist belt, knots Norigae decorated everywhere. From the above, it can be seen that the traditional Korean colors and patterns expressed in the Huntr/x’s costume perform a function that reveals symbolism of characters, and worldview beyond simple aesthetic decorations.

본 연구의 목적은 넷플릭스 에니메이션 영화인 K-pop 데몬헌터스의 의상디자인에 나타난 한국 전통복식미의 특성 중 색채와 문양의 상징성에 대해 고찰하는 것이 다. 연구의 범위는 K-pop 데몬헌터스의 주요인물인 헌트릭스 멤버 루미(Rumi), 미 라(Mira), 조이(Joey)의 무대의상을 중심으로 하고, 연구 방법은 한국 전통복식미와 K-pop 의상디자인 관련 선행연구를 다룬 문헌연구와 데몬헌터스에서 공개된 공연의 무대의상 자료를 바탕으로 색채와 문양의 관점에서 전통복식미의 상징성을 고찰한다. 고찰의 결과, K-pop 데몬헌터스의 의상디자인에 차용된 전통 색채와 문양은 다음과 같은 양상으로 나타났다. 헌트릭스의 무대의상은 전통 오방색 체계를 기반으로 색채를 사용하여 상징적 메시지를 전달하고 있다. 흑색은 전사의 강인함과 힘을, 황색은 극중 리더의 중심인물이자 핵심적 에너지를 표현하는 장치로, 신뢰가 중요한 등장인물의 의 상에는 청색을, 생명력과 긴장을 강조해야 하는 등장인물의 의상에는 적색을 사용하여 그 캐릭터를 표현하는 등 K-pop 데몬헌터스의 의상에서는 오방색의 의미가 현대적으 로 차용되어 글로벌하게 재해석되고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 전통 문양은 주요인물의 재킷에 장식된 운문과, 상의에 장식된 연화문, 십장생문양(산문양), 어깨장식과 허리벨 트 및 곳곳에 장식된 병아리매듭, 국화매듭 노리개 등 다양한 전통 문양을 현대적으로 재해석하여 의상에 상징성을 부각하고 있다. 이상에서 K-pop 데몬헌터스 의상에 표현 된 한국 전통 색채와 문양은 단순한 미적 장식을 넘어 상징성과 등장인물의 성격, 역할 및 세계관을 드러내는 기능을 수행하고 있다는 것을 확인할 수 있다.
