This study is aimed at examining the characteristics of literature education at KIM IL SUNG University, a representative institution that teaches Korean as a foreign language to international students, through an analysis of the textbook 『Fundamentals of Literature』 published in 2024. This textbook holds significant value for understanding the current status of Korean language education in North Korea, as it is the most recently published academic Korean language textbook for international students, differing from general-purpose communication-focused textbooks. The results of analysis show that the most important factor in the foundation of literature education for international students conducted through the textbook 『Fundamentals of Literature』 is the leader’s teaching, which functioned as the grounds for the ‘Juche literature ideology’ that forms the basis of North Korean literary theory and as a guideline for evaluating works. We may surmise, through this, that international students get literature education with the goal of understanding and acquiring the value of literature that is considered important in North Korean society. Although this study does not confirm how literature lessons are actually conducted using this textbook within the overall Korean language education curriculum, it is significant for verifying one aspect of literature education for international students at Kim Il Sung University, centered around the leader's teachings presented in the textbook.

본 연구에서는 2024년에 출판된 『문학기본(류학생용)』 교재를 분석하여 북한에서 유학생을 대상으로 조선어교육을 실시하고 있는 대표적인 기관인 김일성종합대학에서 이루어지고 있는 문학 교육의 특성을 파악하고자 하였다. 『문학기본(류학생용)』 교재 는 현재까지 남한에서 연구된 유학생을 위한 조선어교재 중 가장 최근에 출판된 교재 이자 의사소통을 중심으로 하는 일반 목적의 조선어교재가 아닌 학문 목적의 문학 교 재라는 점에서 북한에서의 조선어교육 현황 파악에 매우 중요한 자료적 가치를 지닌 다. 교재 분석 결과 『문학기본(류학생용)』 교재를 통해 실시되는 유학생 대상 문학 교육 의 밑바탕에는 지도자의 교시가 매우 중요하게 작용하고 있으며, 지도자의 교시는 북 한 문학 이론의 기초를 이루고 있는 ‘주체문학사상’의 근거와 작품 평가의 지침으로 기 능하고 있었다. 이를 통해 유학생들은 북한 사회에서 중요하게 여기는 문학의 가치를 이해하고 습득하는 것을 목표로 문학 교육을 받게 됨을 추측할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 이 교재를 활용한 문학 수업이 전체 조선어 교육과정과 실제 교실 내에서 어떻게 이루 어지고 있는지 확인하지 못했다는 한계가 있으나, 교재에 제시된 지도자 교시를 중심 으로 김일성종합대학에서 이루어지고 있는 유학생 대상 문학 교육의 특성을 확인하였 다는 데에 의의가 있다.
