This study analyzed the impact of sports stars’ behaviors and attitudes on the sustainability of fandom by comparing and reviewing major domestic and international cases. With the rapid growth of the global sports industry, the social and economic influence of sports stars has expanded, making their attitudes and conduct key factors in sustaining and expanding fandom, alongside athletic performance. Theoretical frameworks such as the Sports Hero Analysis Model, Social Judgment Theory, Team Identification Theory, Cognitive Dissonance Theory, and the concept of fandom were applied. The analysis revealed that negative behaviors and attitudes trigger cognitive dissonance and weaken team identification, leading to fan disengagement and economic loss. In contrast, positive behaviors function as crucial elements that strengthen fan cohesion and foster long-term loyalty. This study interprets fandom as a psychological and social mechanism, stressing the need for image management, fan communication, and ethical standards.

본 연구는 스포츠 스타의 행동과 태도가 팬덤의 지속가능성에 미치는 영향을 분석하기 위해 국내외 주요 사례를 비교·검토하였다. 글로벌 스 포츠 산업이 급성장함에 따라 스타의 사회적·경제적 영향력이 확대되 었으며, 이에 따라 경기력 못지않게 태도와 행동이 팬덤 유지와 확산을 결정짓는 핵심 요인으로 부상하였다. 이론적 틀로는 스포츠 영웅 분석 모델, 사회적 판단 이론, 팀 동일시 이론, 인지 부조화 이론, 그리고 팬 덤 개념을 적용하였다. 분석 결과, 부정적 행동과 태도는 팬덤의 인지 부조화와 팀 동일시 약화를 유발하여 팬 이탈과 경제적 손실을 초래하 는 반면, 긍정적 행동은 팬덤의 결속력과 장기적 충성도를 강화하는 중 요한 요인으로 작용하였다. 본 연구는 팬덤을 단순한 소비 현상이 아닌 심리적·사회적 메커니즘으로 설명하며, 스포츠 스타와 구단을 위한 이 미지 관리, 팬 소통 전략, 선수윤리 및 교육 가이드라인 마련의 필요성을 제시하였다.
