Objectives This study has three main objectives: first, to systematically analyze the formal characteristics of Dangak-style creative Jeongjae from the early Joseon Dynasty; second, to explore the structural transformation and sociological meaning of Hoemu (circular dance); and third, to examine how these dances were utilized and symbolized as representations of social order and harmony during the early Joseon period. Methods The research methodology combines textual analysis of Goryeosa Akji, Akhakgwebeom and Yegi Akgi with visual analysis of diagrammatic sources, integrating the findings through the philosophical framework of Yeak. Results The results reveal that the double Hoemu embodies a structure in which the inner and outer circles rotate simultaneously in opposite directions, symbolizing the mutual harmony between heaven and earth, ruler and subject, and the center and periphery. The inner circle represents stillness and musical harmony, while the outer circle expresses dynamic order. Conclusions Ultimately, the double Hoemu is not merely a dance form but an artistic embodiment of the aesthetics of Yeak politics—symbolizing social order and the ideal of communal harmony. This study reveals that the double Hoemu functioned as a symbolic medium of social integration by translating the ideology of Yeak into visual and performative language.

연구의 목적은 첫째, 조선 전기 당악형식의 창작정재를 중심으로 형식적 특징을 체계적으로 정리하고, 둘째, 회무의 형식변용과 사회적 함의를 탐구하는데 있다. 그리고 셋째, 조선 전기 당악형식의 창작정재 가 당대 사회의 질서와 조화 구현에 어떻게 활용되고 또한 상징화되었는지를 밝히는 것이다. 연구 방법은 『고려사악지』,『악학궤범』,『예기·악기』 등의 문헌 외에 도상 자료 분석과 예악 사 상적 해석을 결합한 문헌 중심의 연구이다. 연구결과 이중회무는 내원과 외원의 동시 회전 구조로, 하늘과 땅, 왕과 백성, 중심과 주변의 상호 조 화를 상징한다. 이는 곧 성리학적 원리를 시각화한 예로서, 내원의 정은 악의 조화, 외원의 동은 예의 질 서를 상징한다. 더욱이 두 원이 반대 방향으로 돌면서도 하나의 중심을 공유한다는 점은 상호보완 관계 를 표현하는 성리학적 사고와 직결된다. 이중회무는 성리학적 예악사상을 시각적으로 구현한 정치 언어 이자 조선 사회가 지향한 질서와 공동체 이상을 표현한 교화의 수단이었다. 본 연구는 이중회무를 통해 조선 전기 당악형식의 창작정재가 사회통합의 상징장치로 작동한 예악정 치의 구현을 밝혔다는데 그 의의가 있다.
