This study analyzed how equality awareness and technological values relate to happiness among Koreans, focusing on the mediating role of life evaluation and the moderating effect of social trust. Using data from the 2023 Korean Happiness Survey (3rd wave) conducted by the National Assembly Futures Institute (N = 16,305), the PROCESS macro Model 59 was employed for analysis. The results revealed that equality awareness positively affected both life evaluation and happiness, and this relationship was strengthened by social trust. Technological values indirectly affected happiness via life evaluation, and this pathway was also moderated by social trust. Fairness perception and social trust, rather than income, emerged as key predictors of happiness, while age was negatively associated with both life evaluation and happiness. These results highlight the need to restore social trust and enhance fairness in governance to improve national well-being.

이 연구는 한국인의 행복감에 영향을 미치는 사회심리적 요인을 규명하기 위해 평등 의식과 과학기술 가치관이 행복감에 미치는 과정에서 삶에 대한 평가의 매개효과와 사 회적 신뢰의 조절효과를 분석하였다. 국회미래연구원의 ｢2023년 한국인의 행복조사(3 차)｣ 자료(N=16,305)를 활용하여 PROCESS macro model 59로 검증한 결과, 평등의 식은 삶에 대한 평가와 행복감 모두에 정(+)의 영향을 미쳤으며, 사회적 신뢰는 이 관 계를 강화하는 조절효과를 보였다. 과학기술 가치관은 행복감에 직접적인 영향은 없었 으나 삶에 대한 평가를 매개로 간접효과를 나타냈고, 이 역시 사회적 신뢰에 의해 조절 되었다. 연령은 행복감과 삶 평가에 부(-)적, 소득은 삶 평가에만 정(+)적 영향을 미쳤 다. 이러한 결과는 소득보다 공정성 인식과 사회적 신뢰가 행복을 설명하는 핵심 요인 임을 보여주며, 정책적으로는 사회적 신뢰 회복, 정책의 공정성·투명성 제고, 인간 중 심의 과학기술 정책이 국민 행복 증진에 기여할 수 있음을 시사한다.
