In a super-aged society, nurses must necessarily possess high-quality gerontological nursing competencies in order to provide enhanced healthcare services for older adults. This study is a correlational study to testify the influences of ageism and compassionate competence on attitude toward caring for older adults in nursing students. Data were collected from April 24 to May 9, 2023 on 134 nursing students in K City. The data were analyzed using SPSS 18.0 program by descriptive statistics, difference test, correlation, and hierarchical regression analysis. As a result of the study, mean of the attitude toward caring for older adults was 3.93±0.61 on a 5-point sclae, and compassionate competence(β=.291, p=.001), closeness to older adults(β= .215, p=.010), and ageism(β=-.177, p=.026) had a significant influence on attitude toward to caring for older adults, and explanatory power was 22.0%(F=13.50, p<.001). To foster positive attitudes toward caring for older adults, it is necessary to enhance compassionate competence and reduce ageism through a systematic nursing education curriculum that integrates reflective learning, practice-oriented clinical training, meaningful volunteer activities, enabling students to deeply understand and empathize with older adults.

초고령 사회에서 수준 높은 노인의료서비스 제공을 위해 간호사는 필수적으로 양질의 노인간호역량을 갖추어야 한 다. 본 연구는 간호대학생의 연령주의와 공감역량이 노인돌봄태도에 미치는 영향을 파악하고자 수행된 상관관계 연구이다. K 시에 소재한 일 대학 간호대학생 134명을 대상으로 2023년 4월 24일부터 5월 9일까지 자료수집을 하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 18.0 프로그램을 이용하여 기술통계, 차이검정, 상관관계 및 위계적 회귀분석으로 분석하였다. 연구결과, 노인돌봄태도 는 5점 만점 기준 평균 3.93±0.61점이었고, 공감역량(β=.291, p=.001), 노인친밀도(β=.215, p=.010), 연령주의(β=-.177, p=.026) 순으로 노인돌봄태도에 유의한 영향을 미쳤고, 설명력은 22.0%이었다(F=13.50, p<.001). 간호대학생의 긍정적인 노인돌봄태도 함양을 위해 공감역량 증진 및 연령주의 개선이 필요하며, 이를 위해 노인대상자를 깊이 있게 이해하고 공감할 수 있도록 다양한 성찰적 이론교육, 실무형 실습교육, 의미 있는 봉사활동이 유기적으로 연결되고 통합되는 체계적인 간호교 육 커리큘럼이 요구된다.
