As an official document recording the “Great Rites Controversy” during the Jiajing reign of the Ming Dynasty, The Great Canon of Ming Ethics possesses unique research value in terms of its narrative strategies. Through close textual analysis and comparative study, this paper reveals distinct narrative strategies in the text concerning chronology, discourse, and details: First, the careful selection of temporal nodes reinforces the legitimacy of the ritual supporters’ actions. Second, the textual recording of discourse expands the narrative space for marginal figures. Third, the inclusion of detailed descriptions of event processes highlights the achievements of key ritual supporters. These narrative features reflect the political stance and personal motivations of the compilers, demonstrating the tension between the pursuit of “authenticity” and subjective preferences in official historical compilation, deepening the understanding of the “Great Rites Controversy” and Ming Dynasty official historiography.

≪명륜대전≫은 명나라 가정제 시대 ‘대례의’ 사건을 기록한 관찬 문헌으로, 그 서술 전략은 독특한 연구 가치를 지닌다. 본고는 텍스트에 대한 세밀한 분석과 비교 연 구를 통해 해당 서적이 시간, 논의, 세부 사항 등에서 뚜렷한 서술 전략을 채택했음 을 발견하였다. 첫째, 시간적 절점을 신중하게 선택하여 예찬 세력의 행동 정당성을 강화하였다. 둘째, 언론을 텍스트 형태로 기록함으로써 인물 서술의 공간을 확장하였 다. 셋째, 사건 과정에 대한 세부 묘사를 추가하여 주요 예찬 인물들의 공적을 부각 시켰다. 이러한 서술 전략은 기록자의 정치적 입장과 개인적 의도를 드러내며, 관찬 사서 편찬에서 추구하는 객관성과 기록자의 주관적 선호 간의 긴장 관계를 구현한다. 이는 ‘대례의’ 사건과 명대 관찬 사서 편찬에 대한 이해를 심화하는 새로운 시각을 제시한다.
