The A’REX, which started construction in anticipation of serving as a transportation hub to quickly connect Seoul and Incheon International Airport, began its historic opening in March 2007. Contrary to expectations after its opening, the short route connected only to Gimpo Airport, the convenience comparison with airport buses, and the lack of an integrated transfer discount system caused a lot of inconvenience for users. As a result, the number of daily passengers remained at around 13,000 and was stigmatized as an air transport train, but with the opening of the entire section in the second stage in 2010, the maximum number of daily passengers also reached about 320,000. In order to maintain this development, a more in-depth study is needed on the intention to use A’REX for users, and in this study, based on the mediating effects of the utility and satisfaction of A’REX, we would like to find out how safety, punctuality, comfort, supply, and differentiation affect the intention to use A’REX. As a result of the study, it was found that safety and punctuality had a positive effect on utility and satisfaction, comfort also had a positive effect on utility and satisfaction, and supply and differentiation also had a significant positive effect on utility and satisfaction. In addition, utility had a positive effect on satisfaction and intention to use, and based on this, satisfaction was also found to have a significant positive effect on intention to use.

서울과 인천국제공항을 빠르게 연결하기 위한 교통 허브역할을 기대하면서 착공된 공항철도는 2007년 3월, 역사적인 첫 개통을 시작하였다. 개통 뒤 기대와는 달리 김포공항까지만 연결된 짧은 노선과 공항버스와의 편리성 비교 및 통합환승할인제도 미적용 등으로 인해 이용자 입장에서는 큰 불편함이 많았고, 그 결과 하 루 이용객이 1만 3천명 수준에 머무르면서 공기수송열차 등의 오명을 뒤집어썼으나 2010년 2단계 전 구간 개통을 시작으로 비약적인 발전을 이루면서 하루 최대 이용객 또한 약 32만 명이 될 정도로 엄청난 성장을 이루었다. 이러한 발전을 계속 유지하기 위해서는 공항철도를 이용하는 이용객을 대상으로 공항철도 이용의도 에 대해 더욱 심도 있는 연구가 필요하였고, 이에 대해 본 연구에서는 공항철도의 효용과 만족의 매개효과를 토대로 안전성, 정시성, 쾌적성, 공급성, 차별성이 공 항철도의 이용의도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아보고자 한다. 연구 결과, 안전성과 정시성은 효용과 만족도에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤으며 쾌적성 또한 효용과 만 족도에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤고, 공급성과 차별성 또한 효용과 만족도에 상당히 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 그리고 효용은 만족과 이용의도에 긍정 적인 영향을 미쳤으며, 이를 토대로 만족 또한 이용의도에 상당히 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 밝혀졌다.
