Missional churches must support the activities of local churches from a missionary perspective and educate and awaken believers active in the world to recognize that their lives are missionally called, leading them to practice it. A theology of the laity from a missional church perspective suggests that the education of the laity, which equips them as ministers capable of mission and service in the world, is a crucial task for church education. Rather than treating them merely as objects of education and pastoral care or as servants serving the church, the ultimate goal of education and pastoral care for the laity should be to foster their awareness of their calling to mission in the world and to equip them as ministers capable of fulfilling that work. To achieve this, a theology of work appropriate to the Bible and the context must first be established. Traditional theology of work has primarily developed from a fixed vocation theory understood from the perspective of creation and sanctification, failing to deeply consider the daily calling of each believer, the place of their missionary life. Unlike in the past, when occupations were fixed, we now face a highly fluid work environment and work environment. Furthermore, the scientific and technological revolution has transformed the nature of occupations and work. P.Stevens, in his work for the kingdom of God, overcomes the customary divisions between church and world, clergy and laity, and develops a holistic theology of work that connects the kingdom of God with the entirety of human life and all of creation. M.Volf argues that the existing understanding of calling, valid within fixed, traditional occupational structures, is inadequate for today's fluid labor reality, and thus considers economic, spiritual, and ethical dimensions to view work not merely as productive work, but as an act of full humanity and participation in God's purpose. Fundamentally, the theology of work of these two scholars, developed within the framework of pneumatology and new creation, illuminates the true meaning and purpose of work and can help establish the standards for the missionary agenda of God's people toward the world, a missional church pursuing holistic mission. This article emphasizes that work is not merely a means of livelihood or a tool for self-realization, but rather a means of cooperating with God's work of new creation, and should be performed in a way that serves the kingdom of God, neighbors, and nature. The alienation of work and the religiousization of work we experience in this world are both deceptive. Therefore, the issue of work must be oriented toward the humanization of work, which makes us human. Through the establishment of a labor theology appropriate to today's circumstances and God's cosmic plan, thorough education, and practical living in accordance with this theology, we hope to move toward a hopeful future as a missional church, where the next generation participates in God's transformative mission.
