cyberviolence has emerged as a new social issue in modern society driven by the advancement of science and technology. Unlike physical violence, it is difficult to identify perpetrators, making both compensation for victims and legal punishment for offenders challenging. The harm caused by cyberviolence is stored somewhere in cyberspace and can spread globally within minutes due to its rapid transmissibility. Because such damage can be amplified and reproduced, prevention before the occurrence of violence is of utmost importance. The purpose of this study is to examine cyberviolence, which has become increasingly serious and has infiltrated church communities, from a Christian perspective and to propose practical strategies for preventing cyberviolence within the church. To this end, the study first explores the general understanding of cyberviolence and then reviews previous research to analyze its negative consequences. Numerous studies indicate that victims of cyberviolence experience anxiety, depression, despair, shame, and humiliation, and may develop panic disorder or PTSD, as well as suicidal impulses. The study also confirms that the forms of cyberviolence have become more diverse. In addition, it introduces private-sector prevention efforts, legal responses, and educational activities of the Blue Elephant campaign aimed at preventing cyberviolence. cyberviolence constitutes a criminal act punishable under the Information and Communications Network Act, the Criminal Act, the Sexual Violence Punishment Act, and the Stalking Punishment Act. Accordingly, this study reemphasizes the importance of prevention before the occurrence of violence and notes that the Blue Elephant program has improved children’s and adolescents’ awareness of cyberviolence. From a Christian standpoint, the study grounds its discussion in the characteristics of Korean churches and biblical values, emphasizing love for God and love for one’s neighbor as guiding principles for responding to incidents of cyberviolence. Finally, the study proposes five practical strategies for preventing cyberviolence in church communities: promoting legal information and awareness of cyberviolence response mechanisms, establishing a mediation body for those who have experienced cyberviolence, implementing an Internet real-name system within Christian communities, providing virtual simulation experiences of cyberviolence, and conducting relationship training programs to enhance empathy. As a literature-based study, this research presents both preventive and responsive measures for cyberviolence within the church. It further calls for future research that transcends the limitations of literature review and deepens Christian perspectives on cyberviolence.

사이버폭력은 과학기술이 발달한 현대사회의 새로운 사회문제로서 물리적 폭력과 달 리 가해자의 특정이 어려워서 피해에 대한 배상을 받기도 힘들고 가해자를 처벌하기 도 쉽지 않다. 사이버폭력 피해는 사이버공간의 어딘가에 저장되며 빠른 전파성으로 인해 단 몇 분이면 전 세계로 퍼져나간다. 사이버폭력 피해는 확대되고 재생산될 수 있어서 폭력 발생 전 예방이 무엇보다 중요하다. 본 연구의 목적은 점차 심각해지며 교회공동체에도 침투하고 있는 사이버폭력에 대해 기독교적 관점으로 접근한 뒤 교회 내 사이버폭력을 예방할 수 있는 실천적 대안을 제시하는 것이다. 이 같은 목적을 위 해 본 연구는 사이버폭력에 대한 일반적 이해를 시도한 후 선행연구를 통해 사이버폭 력의 부정적 결과를 고찰한다. 다수의 논문에서 사이버폭력 피해자들은 불안, 우울, 절망감, 수치심, 모욕감 등을 경험하며, 공황장애, PTSD 등을 얻게 되고, 자살충동을 느끼는 것으로 탐색 되었다. 사이버폭력의 종류가 점점 더 다양해지고 있음도 확인하 며, 사이버폭력 예방을 위한 민간의 노력과 법적 대응법, 푸른코끼리의 예방교육활동 도 소개한다. 사이버폭력은 정보통신망법, 형법, 성폭력처벌법, 스토킹처벌법에 의해 범죄를 구성하는 범죄행위이므로 폭력발생 전 예방의 중요성을 다시 한 번 강조하며 푸른코끼리의 예방교육 결과 아동·청소년들의 사이버폭력 관련인식이 개선되었음도 고찰한다. 본 연구는 사이버폭력에 대해 기독교적인 탐색을 시도할 때에 한국교회의 특징과 성경적 가치관에 바탕을 두었으며 피해발생 시의 대응책은 하나님 사랑, 이웃 사랑의 가치를 우선시 한다. 마지막으로 본 연구는 교회 내 사이버폭력을 예방하기 위해 사이버폭력의 법적 대응법에 대한 안내 및 홍보, 사이버폭력 경험자들을 위한 분쟁조정기구 설립, 기독공동체 내 인터넷 실명제 실시, 사이버폭력 가상체험, 공감능 력 향상을 위한 교회 내 관계훈련의 다섯 가지 실천적 대안을 제시한다. 본 연구는 문헌연구로서 교회 내 사이버폭력 예방을 위한 대안을 제시하였고, 교회 내 사이버폭 력 발생 시 대응책도 제시하였다. 본 연구 이후 문헌연구의 한계를 뛰어넘는 더 많은 기독교 관점의 사이버폭력 관련 연구가 이어질 것도 촉구한다.
