This study analyses the importance of meditation in biblical interpretation and preaching, focusing on the pneumatological perspectives presented in Rudolf Bohren's homiletics through the concept of Theonomous Reciprocity. Biblical exegetical methodologies are categorised as grammatical-historical, historical-critical, historical-literary and structural-analytical, providing an essential framework through which preachers can understand and interpret the text. However, Rudolf Bohren highlights that if these methods remain merely intellectual explorations of the Bible, sermons may lose their spiritual vitality. Preachers often underestimate the value of meditation in sermon preparation. From the perspective of theonomous reciprocity, however, biblical meditation is not merely the first step towards delivering God's message; it is a sacred encounter in which God approaches and speaks to the preacher who meditates on the Word. Bohren understands preaching as a mystical event where human language and God's revelation converge, explaining this within the theological framework of theonomous reciprocity. This concept signifies the reciprocal interaction of human response and participation within the work of the Holy Spirit under God's leading action (theonom). The Holy Spirit works within humans, and the preacher acts as a spokesperson for the Word in this partnership. Therefore, preaching is where the miracle of God (opus Dei) and human skill (opus humanum) intersect: a theological event where divine inspiration and human responsibility coexist. Furthermore, Boren argues that meditation is not merely a process of contemplation, but an act of spiritual participation in which the Word is internalised and embraced. It is an event in which the preacher and the congregation engage in a ‘Play(Spiel)’ in the presence of the Holy Spirit. This pneumatological understanding of preaching reveals that it transcends mere communication to become a spiritual reality: a reciprocal encounter between God and humanity. At some point, preachers in the Korean church lost their attitude of standing before God as His Word's spokespeople by meditating on the Bible and listening to it as servants. Instead, they began to rely on various techniques and methods to make delivery more convenient, rather than focusing on the essence of preaching. This marked the beginning of the crisis in the Korean church. This study aims to present an understanding of practical theological preaching that integrates academic methods and spiritual experience, elucidating the essence of preaching and harmonising the presence of the Holy Spirit with human participation.

본고에서 저자는 루돌프 보렌(Rudolf Bohren)의 설교학에 나타난 신율적 상호관계성 (Theonome Reziprozität)의 개념을 중심으로 설교 준비 과정에서 묵상의 중요성을 고 찰하였다. 성서 주석 방법론은 문법적-역사적, 역사적-비평적, 역사적-문학적, 구조적 -분석적 방법으로 구분되며, 이는 설교자가 본문을 이해하고 해석하는 데 필수적인 틀을 제공한다. 그러나 보렌은 해석학적 방법은 성서를 단순한 지적 탐구의 차원에서 머무를 경우, 설교가 성령의 생명력을 상실할 위험이 있다고 지적한다. 설교자가 설교 를 준비하는 과정에서 종종 묵상의 가치를 가볍게 여기는 경향이 있다. 그러나 신율 적 상호관계성의 관점에서 성서 묵상은 단순히 하나님의 말씀을 대언하기 위한 첫 단 계일 뿐 아니라, 그 말씀을 묵상하는 설교자에게 하나님께서 인격적으로 다가오시고 말씀하시는 ‘거룩한 만남의 자리’이다. 보렌은 설교를 인간의 언어와 하나님의 계시가 만나는 신비적 사건으로 이해하며, 이를 신율적 상호관계성의 신학적 틀 속에서 설명 하였다. 이 개념은 하나님의 주도적 행위(theonom) 아래에서 인간의 응답과 참여가 성령의 역사 안에서 상호적으로 작용함을 의미한다. 성령은 인간 안에서, 인간과 함께, 그리고 인간을 통하여 일하시며 설교자는 이러한 성령의 동반자적 관계 속에서 말씀을 대언하는 존재가 된다. 따라서 설교는 하나님의 기적(opus Dei)과 인간의 기술 (opus humanum)이 교차하는 자리로서 신적 영감과 인간의 책임이 공존하는 신학적 사건이다. 또한 보렌에게 묵상은 단순한 사색의 과정이 아니라 말씀을 내면화하고 그 속으로 들어가는 영적 참여의 행위이며, 설교자와 청중이 성령의 임재 속에서 하나의 ‘놀이(Spiel)’를 이루는 사건이다. 이러한 성령론적 설교 이해는 설교가 단순한 전달 행위를 넘어서 하나님과 인간의 상호적 만남으로서의 영적 실재임을 드러낸다. 오늘 날 한국교회의 설교자들은 성서를 묵상하면서 하나님의 말씀 앞에서 경청하는 종의 자세로, 그리고 말씀의 대언자로서 서기 위한 근본적인 태도를 점차 잃어가고 있다. 설교의 본질을 떠나서 전달의 편의를 위한 다양한 기법과 방법에 의존하게 되었고, 이로 인해 한국교회의 위기가 시작되었다. 본 연구는 성령의 임재와 인간의 참여가 조화를 이루는 설교의 본질을 규명함으로써 학문적 방법과 영성적 체험이 통합된 실천신학적 설교의 이해를 제시하고자 한다.
