This study examine the registration status of Donghak Peasant Army participants who were active in Gyeongsang-right-do. During the Joseon Dynasty, Gyeongsang-do was divided into left and right roads, the status of registration as a participant in Donghak Peasant Army in Gyeongsang-right-do is as follows. First, there were more cases of ‘authority registration’ than applications from descendants. 227 people were registered, 192 people were 'authority registered', accounting for about 84.6%. Second, there were more registered participants in Gyeongsang-right-do than in Gyeongsangleft- do. This may be because it borders Chungcheong-do and Jeolla-do. Third, there were many people who were active in Sangju-jin and Jinju-jin in Gyeongsang-do. This is because there are many historical data related to this place. There was also something I felt sorry for. Because there are many “authority registrations,” the descendants are often not identified. Therefore, it is not possible to see the data that descendants can provide. It seems to be related to the Donghak organization in addition to blood ties and regionalism. However, there is not enough historical data to clarify. It is not enough to reveal the case of Donghak Peasant Army in 1894. I look forward to it being revealed in the future.

이 연구는 경상우도에서 활동한 동학농민군 참여자의 등록 현황을 살피고자 했다. 조선시대 경상도는 좌도와 우도로 구분하였는데, 경상우도의 동학농민군 참여자로 등록된 현황은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 후손들의 신청보다 ‘직권등록’된 경우가 많았다. 227명이 등록되어 있는 데, 192명이 ‘직권등록’된 사례이고, 약 84.6%를 차지했다. 둘째, 경상좌도의 등록 참여자보다 경상우도의 등록 참여자가 많았다. 충청도･전라도와 경계를 접하고 있기 때문일 것이다. 셋째, 경상우도에서도 상주진과 진주진에서 활동한 인물들이 많았다. 이곳과 관련된 사료(史料)가 많이 남아 있기 때문이다. 아쉬운 부분도 있었다. ‘직권등록’이 많기 때문에 후손이 밝혀지지 않은 경우가 많다. 따라서 후손들이 제공할 수 있는 자료를 볼 수 없는 상황이다. 혈연･지연 외에도 동학조직과 관련된 것으로 보인다. 하지만 명확하게 밝히기에는 사료(史料) 가 부족하다. 1894년 동학농민군의 사례를 밝히기에 미흡하다. 앞으로 밝혀지길 기대해 본다.
