Antonio Vivaldi’s music in functions not merely as a background element for creating atmosphere of the scene, but as a core device that emotionally connects characters, events, and spaces, thereby expanding the film’s emotional structure and narrative depth. This study aims to examine how the musical characteristics and elements of Vivaldi’s works in Park Chan Wook’s (2005) influence the film’s narrative. First, the general functions of film music were reviewed and classified into seven categories, and based on these, the functions were redefined as four analytical dimensions: (1) formation of emotional atmosphere, (2) reinforcement of theme and narrative, (3) expression of character’s mentality, and (4) enhancement of aesthetic and cinematic artistry. The researcher analyzed five Vivaldi compositions featured in the film—focusing on tonality, melody, rhythm, harmony, timbre, tempo, and instrumentation—and interpreted their relationships with cinematic scenes, emotions, dialogue, and spatial contexts as in these four functions. Specifically, ‘Vivaldi’s Bassoon Concerto RV. 484’ intensifies a tension at the climax of revenge; the Largo movement of ‘Vivaldi Concerto RV. 310’expresses the emotional transition from vengeance to maternal compassion; and the aria ‘Cessate, omai cessate RV. 684’ contrasts Geum Ja’s internal anguish with her external façade. Ultimately, Vivaldi’s music aesthetically reconstructs the intertwined themes of revenge and redemption, functioning as a cinematic language that integrates emotion, theme, character, and aesthetics. Therefore, this study reveals that Vivaldi’s music serves as a central role enhancing both the emotional completeness and narrative expansion of . Nevertheless, this study aims to offer a reference for future research, contributing to a shift from emotion-focused perspectives toward the establishment of structurally and narratively based musical analysis in film music studies.

영화 『친절한 금자씨』에 등장하는 비발디 음악은 단순히 장면의 분위기를 조성하는 배경적 요소가 아니라 인물·사건·공간을 정서적으로 연결하며 영화의 감정 구조와 내러티브를 확장시키는 핵심 장치로 작용한다. 본 연구는 박찬욱 감독의 영화 『친절한 금자씨』(2005)에 삽입된 비발디 음악의 특성과 요소들 이 영화의 내러티브 구조에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 규명하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 먼저 영화음악의 보 편적 기능을 일곱 가지로 정리하고, 이를 바탕으로 영화음악의 기능을 ① 정서적 분위기의 형성, ② 주제 와 내러티브의 강화, ③ 캐릭터의 심리 표현, ④ 미학적 가치 및 영화적 예술성 향상으로 범주화하였다. 연구자는 영화 󰡔친절한 금자씨󰡕에 삽입된 다섯 곡의 비발디 음악을 조성, 선율, 리듬, 화성, 음색, 빠르기, 악기편성 등의 음악의 요소로 분석하였고, 그 내용을 영화의 장면·감정·대사·공간과 맺는 관계성을 창출하여 위의 네 가지 기능으로 설명하였다. 특히 ‘A. Vivaldi Bassoon Concerto RV. 484’는 복수의 절정 에서 긴장감을 고조시키고, ‘A. Vivaldi Concerto RV. 310’의 Largo 악장은 복수에서 모성으로의 감정 전 환을 표현하며, ‘Cantata Cessate, omai cessate RV. 684’는 금자의 내면과 외면의 괴리를 대비시킨다. 결 국 비발디의 음악은 영화 『친절한 금자씨』의 복수와 구원이라는 주제 의식을 미학적으로 재구성하며 감 정·주제·인물·미학을 유기적으로 결합하는 영화적 언어로 기능한다. 따라서 본 연구는 비발디 음악 이 영화 『친절한 금자씨』에서 정서적 완성도와 내러티브 확장을 이끄는 중심적 요소임을 동의할 수 있다. 비발디 음악을 통해 드러나는 내러티브 확장과 그 효과를 위의 네 가지 범주 안에서 음악적으로 분 석하는 데에는 한계가 존재한다. 그러나 본 연구가 향후 영화음악 연구에서 정서 중심의 접근을 넘어, 구조적·서사적 기반 음악 분석 개발에 참고점이 되기를 기대한다.
