This paper explores the essence and interrelationship of religion and politics from a perspective of True Parents Theology of the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification. According to the principle of creation, religion and politics were united within the life of human beings who live in attendance to Heavenly Parent. However, due to the fall of Adam and Eve, humanity fell into ignorance, and politics became distorted into a struggle for power. To save fallen humankind and realize the purpose of creation, Heavenly Parent sent the Only Begotten Daughter among the Korean people and called the Returning Messiah, allowing them to manifest together as True Parents. True Parents, as the True Parents of Heaven, Earth, and Humankind in oneness with Heavenly Parent, have conducted the providence of salvation to recreate the fallen world into its original state. The salvific providence of True Parents begins with the salvation of the individual and family through the Blessing Ceremony and upon that foundation, transforms the structure of the fallen world into the world of co-existence, co-prosperity, and co-righteousness centered on Heavenly Parent through the education of true love and truth. In this process, religion, with its altruistic spirituality, plays the role of the mind guiding politics toward goodness, and politics, through the development of democracy, becomes ultimately the politics of co-prosperity that attends Heavenly Parent.

본 논문은 세계평화통일가정연합의 참부모신학으로 종교와 정치의 본질 및 상호관계를 고찰 한다. 본래 하늘부모님의 창조원리에 따라 종교와 정치는 인간의 삶 속에 통일되어 있다. 그러나 아담과 해와의 타락으로 인해 인간은 무지에 빠지고, 정치는 권력 투쟁으로 왜곡되었다. 하늘부 모님은 타락 인류를 구원하고 창조목적을 실현하기 위해 한민족 가운데 독생녀를 보내고 재림 메시아를 부르시어 참부모로 현현하게 하셨다. 참부모님은 하늘부모님과 일체된 천지인참부모 님으로서 타락 세계를 본연의 세계로 창조하는 구원섭리를 경륜해 오셨다. 천지인참부모님의 구원섭리는 먼저 축복결혼식을 통한 가정구원과 개인구원을 근본으로 하며, 그 위에 참사랑과 진리의 교육을 통해 타락 세계의 구조를 하늘부모님을 중심한 공생공영공의주의 세계로 변혁시 켜 나간다. 이 과정에서 종교는 이타적 영성으로 정치를 선한 방향으로 인도하는 마음의 역할을 하며, 정치는 민주주의를 거쳐 하늘부모님을 모신 공영주의 정치로 완성된다.
