The purpose of this study is to investigate the role and implications of education in the local community. In other words, constructivism, empowerment, and social capital were examined, and through this, the role and implications of education in the local community were examined. Recognition of local culture is important. In the process, it is believed that the strengthening of local people's capabilities, respect for autonomy, and changes from below will eventually contribute greatly to a mature society. The revitalization of education and interaction in such local culture provides a good foundation for raising awareness, solidarity, organization, and use of resources of local people. Therefore, it is necessary to discuss the creation and development of various types of NGO organizations and activation plans to encourage them to develop this. In other words, educators will enable various horizontal networks and play a pivotal role in promoting mutual respect, various interactions, and communities in the public and private sectors, as well as changes from below.

본 연구에서는 지역사회에서의 교육의 역할과 함의에 대하여 알아보고자 하였다. 즉,구성주의,임파워먼트,사회적 자본에 대하여 살펴보고 이를 통하여 지역사회에서 교육이 갖는 역할과 함의를 살펴보았다.교육은 지역의 문화성 및 고유성의 인지를 통하여 사회적 자본창출 및 지속적 발전에 중요한 역할을 하게 된다.따라서 지역사 회의 다양성을 수렴해나가고.그 과정 중에서 지역인들의 역량강화 및 자율성의 존 중,그리고 아래로 부터의 변화는 결국 성숙한 사회에 기여하는 바가 클것으로 사료 된다.이러한 지역문화에 대한 교육과 상호작용의 활성화에는 지역인의 의식고취,결 속력,조직화,자원의 활용 등에 대한 좋은 토대가 된다.그러므로 이를 발전시킬 수 있 도록 다양한 방식의NGO조직의 생성과 발전 및 이를 권장하는 활성화 방안의 논의 가 필요하다.즉,교육가는 다양한 수평적인 네트워크를 가능하게 하고 아래로부터의 변화 뿐 아니라,공공과 민간영역에 있어서 상호 존중과 다양한 상호작용 및 지역사 회 촉진의 중추적 역할을 담당해나갈 것이다.
