This study applied the Gallery Walk activity to a 7th grade class in the ‘data and probability’ domain to conduct a case analysis of changes in students’ mathematical expression ability and attitudes toward mathematics, and to interpret their significance. Four voluntarily participating students were examined using pre- and post-tests on attitudes toward mathematics, self-reports, classroom observations, and interview data, which were comprehensively analyzed. The results showed that all students improved their mathematical expression ability, particularly in the accurate and precise use of mathematical terminology. Confidence, curiosity, and class participation generally increased, whereas changes in mathematics anxiety and perceptions of the usefulness of mathematics were minimal. These findings suggest that the Gallery Walk can promote interaction and feedback among students, thereby positively influencing both expression skills and affective attitudes. However, some affective variables require long-term experience and continuous support to achieve meaningful change.

본 연구에서는 중학교 1학년 ‘자료와 가능성’ 영역 수업에 갤러리 워크(Gallery Walk) 활동을 적용하여 학생들의 수학적 표현 능력과 수학 에 대한 태도 변화를 사례 분석하고 그 의미를 해석하였다. 자발적으로 참여한 4명의 학생을 대상으로 수학에 대한 태도 사전⋅사후 검사, 자기보고 서, 수업 관찰, 면담 자료를 수집하여 종합적으로 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 연구에 참여한 모든 학생의 수학적 표현 능력이 향상되었으며, 특히 정확하 고 정교한 수학 용어 사용이 개선되었다. 또한 자신감, 호기심, 수업 참여도가 전반적으로 향상되었으나, 수학 불안과 유용성 인식 변화는 미미하였 다. 이러한 결과는 갤러리 워크 활동이 학생 간 상호작용과 피드백을 촉진하여 표현 능력과 정의적 태도에 긍정적 영향을 줄 수 있음을 시사한다. 그러나 일부 정의적 변인의 변화에는 장기적 경험과 지속적 지원이 필요함을 확인하였다.
