The study aimed to identify the psychological factors affecting self-injurious behaviour among juvenile detainees by the indirect effect of negative emotions on self-injurious behaviour through urge to self-injury. Based on a dual moderated mediation framework, the research explored the indirect effect of negative on self-injury through self-injury impulse, and the moderating roles of self-injury belief and self-injury ideation in this pathway. Data were collected via structured self-report questionnaires among juveniles in detention facilities in South Korea(N=455). The hypothesized model was tested using PROCESS Macro Model 60. The results indicated that negative emotions (depression, anxiety, and anger) exerted significant indirect effects on self-injurious behavior via self-injury urge. Moreover, the strength of these indirect effects varied depending on the levels of self-injury belief. These findings suggest that self-injury belief functions as a cognitive moderator that intensify the pathway from negative emotions to self-injury urge and self-injurious behaviour. By empirically presenting an integrated mechanism involving emotional, impulsive, and cognitive factors, this study provides foundational data for developing more effective prevention and intervention strategies targeting self-injurious behaviors in juvenile detainees.

본 연구는 소년원 청소년을 대상으로 자해행동에 영향을 미치는 심리적 요인을 규명하기 위한 연구이다. 이를 위해 자해충동을 매개로 청소년의 부정적 정서가 자해행동에 미치는 간접경로 및 자해신념 및 자해생각의 조절효과를 통합적으로 검증하였다. 이를 위해 전국 소년원에 수감 중인 청소년 455명의 설문자료를 Process macro model 4와 60을 사용하여 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 부정적 정서(우 울, 불안, 분노)는 자해충동을 매개로 자해행동에 유의한 간접효과를 나타냈으며, 자해신념의 수준에 따라 간접효과의 강도는 달라졌고 자해생각의 효과는 유의하 지 않게 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 자해신념이 부정적 정서와 자해충동 간의 경로 를 강화하는 인지적 조절요인으로 기능함을 시사한다. 본 연구는 자해행동의 정 서적, 충동적, 인지적 요인이 상호작용하는 통합적 기제를 실증적으로 제시하였으며, 이는 소년원 청소년을 위한 효과적인 자해 예방 및 개입 전략 수립에 기초자 료를 제공할 수 있겠다.
