Development of a Digital Mirror Therapy System with Closed-Loop Brain Modulation for Stroke Rehabilitation

초록

영어

Mirror therapy (MT) helps arm and hand recovery after stroke patients. Its digital form (DMT) makes training easier to use and allows more varied tasks. Non-invasive brain stimulation can add extra benefit when used with rehabilitation. A closed-loop approach goes one step further by reading EEG in real time and adjusting the stimulation to fit the patient’s current state. We built an integrated system that does this. It includes a light forehead-band EEG, a digital monitor-based DMT program, and intelligent tDCS/tACS/tTIS. The system is complete, and a clinical study is being prepared. We expect this closed-loop, EEG-guided DMT to improve motor recovery.
