This study systematically analyzed 545 academic papers on alcohol addiction published in South Korea, examining trends by period, subject matter, research participants, and methodology, with the aim of suggesting future research directions. The results revealed that studies focusing on treatment and intervention accounted for the largest proportion, while research on prevention and the development of addiction was relatively scarce. Additionally, the majority of studies targeted either males alone or mixed-gender groups, with studies focusing solely on women comprising only 7%, indicating significant limitations. In terms of methodology, quantitative research dominated, whereas qualitative and mixed-method studies were minimal. These findings suggest that domestic research on alcohol addiction is heavily skewed toward certain topics and methodologies, lacking sufficient consideration of gender, environmental factors, and multidimensional perspectives. Future research should aim to include a wider range of participants, especially women, focus more on prevention-based foundational studies, and promote interdisciplinary approaches that integrate both quantitative and qualitative methods. This study can serve as a foundational resource for balanced development in addiction research and the formulation of effective policies.

본 연구는 국내에서 발표된 알코올 중독 관련 학술 논문 545편을 분석하여 시대별, 주제별, 대상별, 연구방법 별 동향을 체계적으로 검토하고 향후 연구 방향을 제시하고자 하였다. 연구결과, 전체적으로 치료 및 개입 중심 연구 가 가장 높은 비중을 차지했으며, 예방과 중독 발생 과정을 다룬 논문은 상대적으로 부족하였다. 또한, 남성 단독이나 남녀 중심의 논문이 대다수였으며, 여성 단독의 대상 논문은 7%로 매우 제한적이었다. 연구방법은 주로 양적 연구에 집중되어 있었고, 질적 및 혼합 논문은 미비하였다. 이러한 결과는 국내 알코올 중독 연구가 특정 주제와 방법론에 편중되어 있으며, 성별, 환경적 요인, 다차원적 요인을 충분히 반영하지 못하고 있음을 시사한다. 향후에는 여성 및 다양한 대상자를 포함한 연구, 예방 중심의 기초 연구, 양·질적 접근을 병행한 다학제적 연구가 활성화되어야 할 것 이다. 본 연구는 향후 중독 연구의 균형 있는 발전과 실효성 있는 정책 수립에 기초자료로 기여할 수 있을 것이다.
