Reading literary works and writing a review can produce much deeper and better writing when linked to a reading discussion. There is a significant difference between writing after discussion and writing without discussion. The extracurricular program that this researcher runs at a university is conducted once a week for 2 hours for 7 weeks. In this paper, the effectiveness of writing a review after a reading discussion is revealed through a case study of reading discussion and writing a review on ‘Yun Dong-ju’s poetry’ among the programs that have been run so far. While participating in reading discussions, students organize their thoughts on the discussion topic for presentation at that time. Since this data is accumulated and they have the experience of expressing it directly, they can escape from the worries and confusion about what to write and how to write it. Therefore, since they write the final report based on the accumulated data and discussion experience, they can write less burdensome and more profound articles than if they had not gone through reading discussions.

문학 작품을 읽고 감상문 쓰기는 독서토론을 연계했을 때 훨씬 더 깊고 좋은 글이 나올 수 있다. 먼저 토론을 진행 후 글을 쓰게 했을 때와 토론을 거치지 않고 쓰게 했을 때의 글은 현저히 차이가 난다. 본 연구자가 대학에서 진행하는 <독서토론과 감상문 쓰기> 비교과 프로그램은 매주 1회 2시간씩 7주차에 걸쳐 진행한다. 본고에서는 그동 안 진행해온 <독서토론과 감상문 쓰기> 프로그램 중 ‘윤동주 시’를 대상으로 한 독서토론과 감상문 쓰기 사례를 통 해 독서토론 후 감상문 쓰기의 효과를 밝히고 있다. 학생들은 독서토론에 참여하는 동안 그때그때 발표를 위해서 토 론 주제에 대한 생각을 정리해 놓게 된다. 이러한 자료가 축적되어 있고 직접 말로 표현하는 발표 경험이 있기 때문 에 감상문 쓰기를 마주했을 때 무엇을 어떻게 써야 하는지에 대한 고민과 막막함에서 벗어날 수 있다. 따라서 토론 과정에서 축적된 자료와 토론 경험을 토대로 최종 감상문을 쓰게 됨으로 독서토론을 거치지 않고 쓸 때보다 덜 부담 스럽고 깊은 글을 쓸 수 있게 되는 것이다.
