Both Korean and Chinese Yanggeum (dulcimer) originated from foreign instruments, but have gradually evolved into traditional instruments that reflect each country’s unique cultural characteristics. However, comparative research on Yanggeum performance tools in Korea and China remains underexplored in academic circles. Therefore, this study systematically compares and analyzes the materials, construction methods, structural forms, and typological characteristics of Yanggeum performance tools in both countries, with the aim of identifying their similarities and differences. Through this comparative analysis, the study seeks to provide theoretical reference material for Yanggeum performers, instrument makers, and music scholars, and to contribute to a deeper understanding of the uniqueness and distinctiveness of Korean and Chinese Yanggeum culture. Furthermore, this research holds dual academic significance in that it lays the foundation for mutual learning and technological exchange mechanisms centered on the Yanggeum.

한국과 중국의 양금(揚琴)은 모두 외래 악기를 수용한 후, 각국의 문화적 특성을 반영하여 점차 자국의 전통 악기로 발전해왔다. 그러나 현재까지 한국과 중국 양금의 연주 도구에 대한 비교 연구는 학계에서 충분히 다루어지지 않아 여전히 연구가 부족하다. 이에 본 연구는 한국과 중국의 양금 연주 도구를 구성하는 재료와 제작 방식, 구조적 형태, 유형 특성을 체계적으로 비교 및 분석함으로써, 공통점과 차이점을 정리하고자 한다. 이를 통해 양금 연주자, 악기 제작자, 음악 연구자들에게 이론적 참고 자료를 제공하고, 한국과 중국의 양금 문화의 고유성과 차별성을 심화 이해하는 데 기여하고자 한다. 또한, 본 연구는 양금을 매개로 한 상호 학습과 기술 교류의 메커니즘을 구축하는 데 있어 이중의 학문적 의의를 가진다.
