This study aims to explore the aesthetic consciousness and ideological significance of Hwagwanmu, an intangible cultural heritage of Hwanghae Province, by expanding its interpretation through key Taoist concepts—Wu-wei, Ziran, the dialectic of opposition and transformation, and the philosophy of Sangsaeng. Through this philosophical lens, the study examines the relationship between Hwagwanmu and Korean aesthetic consciousness. As a result, the temporal and spatial margins in Hwagwanmu were found to be associated with the relational understanding of being and non-being, as well as the dynamics of emptiness and fulfillment. The principle of Wu-wei and the cyclical nature of naturalness, realized through the Taoist law of Sangsaeng, were interpreted through the life-oriented logic of opposition and transformation. Consequently, the purpose of Hwagwanmu was extended to reflect the philosophical values of Taoist coexistence. Accordingly, the artistic expression of Hwagwanmu is characterized by its potential for national empathy, expansion of aesthetic value, and interpretive legitimacy. By shedding light on the artistic value of Hwagwanmu through an ideological lens, this study contributes to the academic diversity necessary for interpreting and sharing the philosophical dimensions of traditional Korean dance.

이 연구는 황해도무형유산 화관무의 미의식과 사상성 해득을 목적으로, 도가사상의 ‘무위(無爲)와 자연(自然)’, ‘대립(對立)과 전화(轉 化)’ 그리고 ‘상생(相生)’의 사유로 확장하여 한국적 미의식과의 연계성을 고찰하였다. 그 결과 화관무의 시·공간의 여백 미는 ‘유와 무’, ‘비움과 채움’의 관계 인식과 연계되었고, 상생의 섭리를 통한 ‘무위’와 ‘자연성의 순환’, ‘대립과 전화’는 생명성의 이치로 해석되 었으며, 화관무의 목적성은 도가의 상생철학의 가치로 확장되었다. 이에 화관무의 예술적 표현 양식은 민족 공감과 미적 가치의 확 장성으로 해석적 당위성이 부여되었다. 화관무의 사상성 통찰을 통해 예술적 가치를 조명한 이 연구는 한국 전통춤 사상성 해석과 가치공유를 위한 학술적 다양성에 기여할 것이다.
