This study applied topic modeling, a text-mining technique, to examine research trends in the field of music education in Korea over the past decade. The analysis focused on the top five academic journals indexed by the National Research Foundation of Korea, selected based on the Korea Citation Index (KCI) impact factor and citation frequency. Prior to topic modeling, Korean-language abstracts from these journals were extracted and subjected to frequency analysis to identify the distribution of key terms. The results revealed that research has primarily centered on teaching and learning methods and curriculum development. Topic modeling further classified Korean music education research into three major themes: (1) practical approaches to early childhood and elementary music education, including AI-based collaborative learning in school contexts; (2) the exploration of piano-centered artistic values and musical integration; and (3) themes addressing multicultural education, higher music education, online learning environments, and emotional responses within academic majors. These findings reflect the diversification of research in music education and provide foundational insights for setting future research directions. Further studies should expand the scope of analysis to comprehensively examine the structural characteristics and evolving patterns of music education research in Korea.

이 연구는 최근 10년간 국내 음악교육 분야의 연구 동향을 파악하기 위하여 텍스트 마이닝 기법의 하나 인 토픽 모델링 기법을 적용하였다. 분석 대상은 한국연구재단 등재지 중 한국학술지인용색인(KCI) 영향력 지수 와 피인용도 등을 종합적으로 고려하여 선정된 상위 5개 학술지이다. 토픽 모델링에 앞서 해당 학술지의 국문초록 을 추출하고, 빈도 분석을 통해 주요 키워드의 분포를 확인하였다. 그 결과, 음악 교수-학습 방법과 교육과정 개발 에 관한 논의가 중심을 이루고 있음을 확인하였다. 토픽 모델링 분석 결과, 국내 음악교육 연구는 첫째, 유아 및 초등 음악교육과 인공지능 기반 집단 학습 등 교육 현장의 실천적 접근을 다룬 주제 둘째, 피아노 중심의 예술적 가치와 음악적 융합을 탐색하는 주제 셋째, 다문화 교육, 대학 수준의 음악교육, 온라인 학습 환경과 전공별 정서 적 반응 등을 조명하는 주제의 세 가지로 구분되었다. 이 연구는 음악교육 연구의 다변화된 경향을 반영하며, 향 후 연구 방향 설정에 기초 자료를 제공한다. 후속 연구에서는 분석 대상을 더욱 확장하여 국내 음악교육 연구의 구조적 특징과 변화 양상을 종합적으로 파악할 필요가 있다.
