This study investigates the imperative for Korean students specializing in Chinese language and literature to actively engage with the challenges and opportunities introduced by the era of artificial intelligence(AI). It underscores the critical importance of AI l iteracy education and explores methodol ogies for its integration within Chinese language instruction. The underlying premise is that the advancement and competitiveness of Chinese studies depend on practitioners’ proactive incorporation of AI in their academic and research activities. Moreover, equipping Chinese language majors with AI-related competencies is essential for nurturing interdisciplinary expertise. A central focus of this research is the development of a tailored approach to AI literacy education for Korean students of Chinese, distinct from programs designed for native Chinese speakers. Specifically, it is proposed that underclassmen(freshmen and sophomores) incorporate foundational AI-related vocabulary and sentence structures into their elementary Chinese language curriculum. For upperclassmen(juniors and seniors), the recommendation is to establish specialized courses aimed at deepening their comprehension and analytical skills concerning AI literacy in conjunction with advanced Chinese studies. This pedagogical strategy seeks to foster both AI-specific knowledge grounded in the Chinese language and applicable practical skills. The study contends that this integrated educational framework will not only enhance Korean Chinese majors’ language proficiency but also equip them with the relevant competencies and perspectives necessary for navigating an evolving societal landscape. Furthermore, the paper outlines prospective directions for Chinese studies education in Korea in response to AI-driven trends. By successfully merging traditional educational paradigms with AI technologies, Korean Chinese studies stand to realize multifaceted benefits, including the broadening of academic scope, the strengthening of professional competitiveness, and the cultivation of foresight pertinent to future societal developments.

본고에서는 한국의 중문학 전공자가 AI 시대에 능동적으로 대처할 수 있도록 ‘AI 리터러 시’ 교육의 필요성을 설명하고, 중국어와 AI 리터러시를 연계하여 교육하는 방안도 모색해 보 았다. 이는 앞으로 중문학도 AI에 관심을 두고 교육과 연구를 진행해야 학문의 발전과 경쟁력 을 확보할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라, 중문학 전공자도 AI 관련 역량을 갖추어 융합형 인재로 성장 할 수 있기 때문이다. 특히 여기서는 한국의 중문학 전공자를 대상으로 한 AI 리터러시 교육 의 경우 중국인 모국어 화자와 다른 교육 방식이 필요함을 설명하였다. 예를 들면, 1ㆍ2학년 은 기초 중국어 학습에서 AI 관련 기본 어휘와 문장을 자연스럽게 결합하여 학습하고, 3ㆍ4 학년은 중국어 심화 과정과 함께 AI 리터러시를 이해하고 분석하는 별도의 교과 과정을 개설 하여 중국어 기반의 AI 전문 지식과 실무 역량을 동시에 함양하는 것으로 제안해 보았다. 이 러한 중국어와 AI 리터러시 연계 교육은 한국의 중문학 전공자도 중국어 구사 능력 습득과 향상뿐만 아니라, 앞으로의 시대와 사회에 부합하는 역량과 통찰력을 기르는 데 도움이 될 것으로 생각된다. 또한, 여기서는 AI 시대의 흐름에 따라 한국의 중문학 교육이 나아가야 할 방향도 제안해 보았다. 이를 통해 한국의 중문학에서도 전통적인 교육 방식과 AI 기술이 융합 된 새로운 가치를 창출할 수 있다면, 학문적 지평 확장, 직업적 경쟁력 강화 및 미래 사회에 대한 통찰력 함양 등의 다층적인 이점을 얻을 수 있을 것이다.
