The purpose of this study is as follows. This research recognizes the deepening issues of social inequality and opportunity gaps accelerated by the Fourth Industrial Revolution a n d t h e a d v a n c e m e n t o f c u t t i n g - e d g e i n f o r m a t i o n a n d communication technologies. It explores the role and potential of blockchain technology as a concrete means to realize the philosophy of human equality. Centering on the values of human dignity, equal rights for all individuals, and fair opportunities for participation inherent in the philosophy of equality, this study examines how blockchain can address issues of centralized power structures and information monopolies to build a more equitable and transparent social system. Furthermore, the study pays particular attention to the egalitarian concept of humanity in Donghak’s “Si-cheon-ju” philosophy while considering the impact of technological advancement on the idea of human equality. The content of this study is as follows. The research analyzes the philosophical background of human egalitarianism alongside the major characteristics of blockchain technology, such as decentralization, transparency, immutability, smart contracts, and consensus algorithms. It seeks possibilities for mutual linkage between blockchain and the philosophy of human equality, examining concrete social effects and current implementations through various real-world cases, including decentralized finance, self-sovereign identity, electronic voting, fair content remuneration, public donations and administrative monitoring, and applications in education and employment. In addition, Donghak emphasized the value that all humans are sacred and equal, suggesting this serves as a philosophical foundation for the universal and normative standards demanded by the development of modern technology and artificial intelligence. The results of this study are as follows. Blockchain is an innovative tool that can technically realize the core spirit of autonomy and equal rights in the idea of human equality. Blockchain, based on distributed ledgers, decentralizes the concentration of power and information, enabling both individuals and members of society to participate equally and be respected. By providing fairness and transparency, blockchain contributes to building a trust-based society. Accordingly, blockchain can concretely contribute to the realization of a “society where everyone is equally respected,” as pursued by human egalitarianism. It serves as a catalyst for a sustainable egalitarian society system transformation, further strengthening its ethical foundations in conjunction with both Eastern and Western philosophy. Therefore, this study clearly shows that blockchain, beyond being a mere technological innovation, can play a decisive role in constructing new social infrastructure centered on the universal values of human dignity and equality. Furthermore, it suggests that Donghak’s Si-cheon-ju philosophy can serve as the philosophical and ethical basis for building new social infrastructure using blockchain.

이 연구의 목적은 다음과 같다. 이 연구는 4차 산업혁명과 첨단 정 보통신기술의 발전 속에서 더욱 심화되는 사회적 불평등과 기회 격차 문제를 인식하고, 특히 인간 평등사상을 실질적으로 실현할 수 있는 기술적 방안으로서 블록체인(Blockchain) 기술의 역할과 가능성을 탐 구한다. 인간 평등사상이 지닌 모든 개인의 존엄성과 평등한 권리, 그 리고 공정한 참여 기회의 가치를 중심에 두고, 중앙집중적 권력 구조 와 정보 독점 문제를 해소하여 보다 평등하고 투명한 사회 시스템 구축 에 블록체인이 어떻게 기여할 수 있을지 규명한다. 더하여 이 연구는 기술 발전이 인간의 평등 사상에 미치는 영향을 고찰하는 가운데, 특 히 동학의 ‘시천주(侍天主)’ 사상 속 평등적 인간관에 주목하고자 한다. 이 연구의 내용은 다음과 같았다. 이 연구에서는 인간 평등사상이 지닌 철학적 배경과 더불어 블록체인 기술의 주요 특성인 탈중앙화, 투명성, 불변성, 스마트 컨트랙트, 합의 알고리즘에 관해 분석하였다. 또한 블록체인과 인간 평등사상 간의 상호 연계 가능성을 모색하며, 탈중앙화 금융, 자주적 신원관리, 전자 투표, 콘텐츠 공정 보상, 공공기부 및 행정 감시, 교육·고용 분야 등 다양한 실제 사례를 통해 기술 의 적용 현황과 사회적 효과를 구체적으로 검토하였다. 그리고 동학은 모든 인간이 신성하고 평등하다는 가치를 강조하였으며, 이는 현대 기 술과 인공지능의 발전이 요구하는 보편적·규범적 기준의 철학적 배경 이 될 수 있음을 뜻한다. 이 연구의 결과는 다음과 같았다. 블록체인은 인간 평등사상의 핵심 정신인 자율성과 평등한 권리의 부여를 기술적으로 구현할 수 있는 혁 신적인 도구이다. 분산원장 기반의 블록체인은 권력과 정보의 집중을 분산시켜 개인과 사회 구성원 모두가 동등하게 참여하고 존중받는 사 회 구조를 가능하게 하며, 공정성과 투명성 제공을 통해 신뢰 기반 사 회를 구축하는 데 이바지한다. 이를 통해 블록체인은 인간 평등사상이 추구하는 ‘모두가 평등하게 존중받는 사회’ 실현에 구체적으로 기여하 고, 동서양 철학과의 결합을 바탕으로 윤리적 기반을 더욱 강화하여 지속 가능한 평등사회 시스템 전환의 촉매 역할을 한다. 따라서 블록 체인은 단순한 기술적 혁신을 넘어 인간의 존엄성과 평등이라는 보편 적 가치를 핵심에 두는 새로운 사회 인프라 구축에 결정적인 역할을 할 수 있음을 본 연구가 분명히 제시한다. 더하여 동학의 시천주 사상은 블록체인을 활용한 새로운 사회 인프라 구축의 철학적·윤리적 근간이 될 수 있음을 시사한다.
