As of 2025, a total of 15 cases of buried cultural heritage have been identified in Gyeongnam Province that have been subject to relocation preservation: four in Gimhae, one in Hapcheon, one in Changnyeong, one in Masan, one in Miryang, one in Hamyang, three in Jinju, and three in Changwon. Although such relocation preservation measures were initially undertaken for purposes of academic research, exhibition, and education, their significance has been diminished due to the lack of systematic conservation management, inadequate maintenance of facilities, insufficient accessibility and utilization, and the absence of institutional improvements following preservation measures. This study aims to present conservation and utilization strategies, as well as areas requiring improvement, through status surveys and on-site inspections of the 15 relocated burial heritage sites in the Gyeongnam region. The investigation revealed several issues, including inadequate conservation management systems, limited utilization, and unclear management responsibility, contrary to the original purpose of establishing heritage parks. To address these problems, it is suggested that effective preservation of relocated burial heritage requires the use of exhibition halls, the establishment of cooperative frameworks among stakeholders, and the development of management systems specifically tailored to relocated heritage sites.

경남도 지역에서 이전보존의 형태로 이루어진 매장 유산은 2025년 기준 총 15건으로 확인되 었으며, 김해 4건, 합천 1건, 창녕 1건, 마산 1건, 밀양 1건, 함양 1건, 진주 3건, 창원 3건이다. 이와 같은 매장유산의 이전보존은 학술연구, 전시, 교육 등의 목적으로 활용하고자 하는 목적으로 시작되 었으나 보존조치 후 체계적인 보존관리와 시설의 보수, 접근성 및 활용적 측면과 제도적 장치의 개선 등이 이루어지지 않고 있어 의미가 퇴색되고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 경남 지역에 이전보존된 15건의 매장유산에 대한 현황조사와 실사를 통해 보존 및 활용방안, 개선해야 할 부분을 제시해 보고자 하였다. 조사 결과 유적공원의 조성 목적과 달리 보존관리 체계의 미흡, 활용성 부족, 관리주 체 불명확 등의 문제가 확인되었으며, 이를 개선하기 위해서는 전시관을 활용한 매장유산 보존, 이해 관계자 협력 체계를 통한 매장유산 보존, 이전보존 조치된 매장유산을 위한 관리 시스템이 필요할 것으로 판단된다.
