As the population suffering from emotional difficulties such as stress, anxiety, and depression continues to increase in modern society, this study aims to explore the effects of forest therapy and the structure of psychological changes that promote human immunity, mental stability, and stress relief by utilizing forest therapy healing factors. Existing forest therapy programs are mainly focused on physiological effects, so in-depth interventions that induce psychological structural changes were relatively insufficient. Kim Sun-kyo and Lim Sang-seop, head of the Korea Forest Service, held a legislative public hearing on the "Act on Promotion of Forest Therapy and Promotion of the Forest Healing Industry" at the National Assembly Hall in Seoul on March 14, 2025, and said that the direction of healing is expected to expand to various areas including forests, oceans, and agriculture, and that it is necessary to expand areas where psychology, medical care, and health can be shared. In the end, research as well as the activation of healing programs should be actively conducted along with the search for an integrated model for development in both quantitative and qualitative aspects. This study is meaningful in that based on the search for a new healing model of forest therapy and psychotherapy and its importance as a research result, as well as the application of pastoral counseling were conducted. Therefore, this study attempted to explore the structure of the psychological change process on the effectiveness of forest healing and through what process it is carried out. Accordingly, as a result of examining the healing process model, the healing structure proceeded into four stages: 'Noticing', 'Awareness','Self-Observation', 'ventilation'. These findings were consistent with psychologist James Pennebaker's theory of emotional ventilation of "repression (Noticing)->expression (Awareness)->acceptance (Self-Observation)->recovery (Ventilation)". Based on the results of forest therapy and psychological therapy with forests and nature through psychological ventilation, the practical application of theological ventilation was presented through the healing approach and the pastoral counseling for care that are necessary for the spirituality of ventilation, which sees human anxiety or pain as 'enduring' in front of God, not just as an object of removal in terms of practical theology.

본 연구는 현대 사회에서 스트레스, 불안, 우울 등 정서적 어려움을 겪는 인구가 지속 적으로 증가함에 따라 산림치유 치유 인자를 활용하여 인체 면역력 향상과 정신적 안 정, 스트레스 해소 등을 도모하는 산림치유의 효과와 심리변화과정 구조를 탐색하기 위한 목적을 가진 연구이다. 기존 산림치유 프로그램은 주로 생리적 효과에 집중되고 있어, 심리적 구조 변화를 유도하는 심화 개입은 상대적으로 부족한 실정이었다. 김선 교 국회의원과 임상섭 산림청장은 2025년 3월 14일 서울 국회의원회관에서 ‘산림치유 활성화 및 산림치유산업 진흥에 관한 법률안(이하, 산림치유법안)’ 입법공청회를 개최 하면서, 앞으로 치유의 방향은 산림, 해양, 농업을 포함한 다양한 영역으로 확대될 전 망이며, 심리와 의료· 보건을 함께 할 수 있는 영역 확대가 필요하다고 하였다. 결국, 양적·질적인 면에서의 발전을 위한 통합모델 모색과 함께 치유프로그램의 활성화는 물론 연구 또한 활발하게 진행되어야 한다는 것이다. 본 연구는 산림치유·심리테라피 의 새로운 치유모델 모색과 연구 결과로서의 중요성은 물론 이를 바탕으로 목회상담 실천적 적용 방안에 대해서 연구를 진행했다는데 의의가 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 산 림치유가 어떤 효과성이 있으며, 어떤 과정을 통해서 이루어지는가에 대한 심리변화 과정 구조를 탐색해 보고자 하였다. 이에따라 치유과정 모형을 살펴본 결과, 치유 구 조는 ‘보게 됨’, ‘알아차림’, ‘나를 봄’, ‘심리적 환기’의 4단계 과정으로 진행되었다. 이 러한 연구 결과는 심리학자 제임스 펜네베이커(Pennebaker, J.W)의 “억압(보게 됨)-> 표현(알아차림)->수용(나를 봄)->회복(심리적 환기)”의 감정 환기 이론과 일치하였다. 숲과 자연에서 함께하는 산림치유·심리테라피가 심리적 환기로 나타난 결과를 바탕으 로 실천신학 측면에서 인간의 불안이나 고통을 단지 제거의 대상으로 볼 것이 아니라 하나님 앞에서 ‘견디는’ 것으로 보는 환기(Ventilation)의 영성을 위해 필요한 치유적 접근과 돌봄을 위한 산림치유 목회상담을 통하여 신학적 환기의 실천적 적용 방안을 제시하였다.
