Purpose of the Study : The purpose of this study is to examine intergenerational education within grandparent-grandchild relationships and, based on this, to explore strategies for revitalizing declining church schools caused by disruptions in faith transmission. Content and Method : This study used a literature review method. First, it analyzed the current status and problems of church schools, focusing on the crisis of faith inheritance. Second, it examined the concept, characteristics, and biblical basis of intergenerational education, and explored the educational roles of grandparents?helpers, guides, and counselors. Third, it proposed practical ways to apply intergenerational education in church schools using grandparents as key mentors. Conclusion and Recommendations : Church schools can strengthen faith continuity by involving grandparents as partners in education and developing related programs. This model offers a new way to pass down faith to the next generation. However, programs must consider grandparents' health, family situations, and spiritual maturity. Churches should provide structured support to help grandparents serve effectively in faith education.

연구 목적 : 본 연구의 목적은 현대사회에서 신앙계숭의 어려움으로 인해 침체되고 있는 교회학교의 현실을 극복하기 위한 대안으로, 전통적인 대가족 구조 속에서 형성된 조손관계에 기반한 격대교육의 이론적 기초를 고찰하고, 이를 교회교육 현장에 적용할 수 있는 방안을 탐색하는데 있다. 특히 조부모와 손자녀 간의 자연스러운 신앙 전수 구조를 통해 교회교육의 연속성과 지속성을 강화하고, 궁극적으로 교회학교 활성화를 위한 실천적 대안을 제시하고자 한다. 연구 내용 및 방법 : 본 연구는 문헌 연구 방법을 활용하였다. 첫째, 교회학교의 현황과 문제점을 고찰하고, 교회학교 내에서 신앙계승의 중요성과 그 위기에 대해 분석하였다. 둘째, 격대교육의 개념과 특징, 그리고 성경적 근거를 문헌을 통해 고찰하였으며, 격대교육자로서 조부모인 노인의 특성과 교육적 역할을 조명하였다. 이를 통해 교회학교 체계 안에서 조부모가 조력자, 안내자, 상담자의 역할을 수행할 수 있음을 도출하였다. 셋째, 조부모를 매개자로 한 격대교육을 교회학교 내에서 효과적으로 활용할 수 있는 방안을 탐색하고, 이를 통해 교회학교의 활성화를 도모할 수 있는 실천적 대안을 제시하였다. 결론 및 제언 : 교회학교는 조부모 세대를 신앙 교육의 동역자로 세우고, 관련 프로그램을 개발·운영함으로써 격대교육을 실현할 수 있으며, 이를 통해 교회교육의 연속성을 강화하고 다음 세대 신앙 계승의 새로운 모델을 제시할 수 있다. 그러나 격대교육의 주체인 조부모는 고령으로 인한 건강문제, 다양한 가정환경, 신앙의 성숙도 등 한계로 예측되는 변수가 있으므로 이를 고려하여 프로그램을 운영할 필요가 있다.
