Purpose of the Study : This study aims to present a sustainable alternative for church edu- cation by conducting action research on the “grandparetal education in Baby School,” a pro- gram in which grandparents and grandchildren participate together, particularly in the con- text of Korean churches and other Christian Education settings that are facing a population cliff caused by low birth rates. Research Content and Method : The existing baby school program conducted by SaeEden Church is reorganized into a grandparental education program involving both grandparents and grandchildren, and action research is carried out. First, to establish a theoretical foun- dation for the program, the developmental characteristics of infants and toddlers?the pri- mary participants of baby school?are examined through developmental stage theory. Second, the distinctive features of baby school through grandparental education are explored with a focus on ‘Bebe School,’ a program operated by SaeEden Church. Finally, interviews are con- ducted with grandparents who participated in the first and second round of the grand- parents-centered baby school at the church site. The interview data are processed and ana- lyzed to identify and evaluate the educational characteristics of baby school through grand- parental education. Conclusion and Suggestions : As a result of analyzing the interview contents, the five main categories were presented: (1) the importance of transmitting the Christian faith to their grandchildren through grandparental education, (2) the effectiveness of intergenerational communication forstered by cross-generational education between grandparents and grand- children, (3) the value of strengthening etiguette skills through programs utilizing the five senses and traditional games, (4) recognition of grandparents as active agents of education through blessing prayers, and (5) the cultivation of a positive image of family faith training and Christian faith. Based on these findings, the study proposes the development of grand- parental education programs in Korean churches, specifically through initiatives such as an “Intergenerational camp” and a “Grandparent-grandchildren project.”

연구 목적 : 본 연구는 한국교회를 비롯한 다양한 기독교 교육 현장이 저출산으로 인해 인구 절벽 시대를 맞이하는 상황 속에서 조부모와 손자녀가 함께하는 “격대교육 아기학교”를 실행연구로 검 증하여 교회교육의 지속가능한 대안을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구 내용 및 방법 : 본 연구에서는 지금까지 새에덴교회에서 진행하던 아기학교 프로그램을 조부 모와 손자녀가 함께하는 격대교육 프로그램으로 재구성하고 이에 대한 실행 연구를 실시하였다. 먼저 격대교육 프로그램을 위한 이􏰁적 배경을 마련하고자, 첫째, 아기학교의 대상인 유아들 (25-55개월)의 특징을 발달 단계 이􏰁에 따라 제시하고, 둘째, 격대교육을 통한 아기학교의 특징 을 새에덴교회에서 운영하고 있는 아기학교 “베베 스쿨”를 중심으로 소개하였다. 마지막으로 교회 현장에서 두 차례에 걸쳐 실시한 격대교육 중심의 아기학교에 참석한 조부모들을 대상으로 인터뷰 를 실시하고, 인터뷰 내용을 전사처리하여 분석함으로써 격대교육을 통한 아기학교의 교육적 특징 을 고찰하였다. 결􏰁 및 제언 : 인터뷰 내용을 분석한 결과, 조부모가 손자녀와 함께 하는 격대교육을 통해 (1) 조 부모가 손자녀에게 3대 신앙이 전수되는 것의 중요성, (2) 조부모와 손자녀 간의 통합교육을 통한 세대 연결 소통의 효과성, (3) 오감놀이와 전통놀이로 이루어진 프로그램을 통한 예절 역량 강화의 적절성, (4) 조부모의 축복기도를 통한 교육의 주체로서의 인식, 그리고 (5) 가정 신앙 훈련과 기 독교 신앙에 대한 긍정적 이미지가 제시되었다. 그리고 이러한 결과들을 기반으로 하여 한국교회 가 앞으로 지향해야 하는 “격대 캠프”와 “부자 프로젝트”를 격대교육 프로그램으로 제안하였다.
