In the changing urban space, contemporary arts has played various roles in everyday life and urban life, and has contributed to the cultural and economic development of the city. This study analyzes what kind of universal role of urban art projects that have been performed in the relationship between social life and community, different from the special activities of traditional public art that contribute to the cultural environment of the city as a physical form. Furthermore, this paper analyzes hat kind of influence urban art projects, among various types of art projects, have on the cultural regeneration of the city and the local community. This aims to go beyond a simple art historical approach and examine the function and significance of urban art in the complex network of social, political, economic, and cultural relations.

변화하는 도시 공간에서 현대미술은 인간의 도시적 삶과 일상에서 다양한 방식으로 작동하며 도시 의 문화적·경제적 발전에 기여해 왔다. 본 논문은 도시의 문화 환경에 기여해 온 물리적 형태로서의 공공미술과는 다르게 지역의 사회적 삶과 공동체의 관계에서 수행해 온 도시 미술 프로젝트의 보편적 역할을 고찰한다. 더 나아가 이 논문은 다양한 유형의 도시 속 예술 프로젝트들 중 도시 미술 프로젝트 가 도시의 문화적 재생과 지역 공동체 형성에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 분석한다. 이는 단순한 미술사 적 접근을 넘어서 사회, 정치, 경제, 문화가 얽힌 복잡한 관계망 속에서 도시 미술의 기능과 의의를 조망하는 데 목적이 있다.
