The purpose of this study was to identify the mediating effect of health-promoting behaviors on the relationship between eHealth literacy and health-related quality of life (HRQOL). A cross-sectional study was conducted using convenience sampling of 192 community-indwelling older adults in South Korea. Data were analyzed using SPSS 21.0 and included descriptive statistics, independent t-tests, one-way ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation coefficients, multiple regression, and mediation analysis. Health-promoting behaviors were found to fully mediate the relationship between eHealth literacy and HRQOL, explaining 36% of the variance in HRQOL. The significance of the mediating effect was confirmed through the Sobel test, indicating that health-promoting behaviors were a statistically significant mediator (Z=3.36, p<.001). Enhancing older adults HRQOL requires considering their eHealth literacy while implementing practical strategies to promote health-related behaviors.

본 연구는 e헬스 리터러시와 건강 관련 삶의 질 간의 관계에서 건강증진 행위의 매개효과를 확인하고자 하였 다. 지역사회에 거주하고 있는 노인 192명을 대상으로 편의표집을 통해 횡단적 조사연구를 실시하였다. 자료는 SPSS 21.0 프로그램을 활용하여 기술통계, 독립표본 t검정, 일원분산분석, 피어슨 상관 분석, 다중회귀분석 및 매개효과 분석 을 통해 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 건강증진 행위는 e헬스 리터러시와 건강 관련 삶의 질 간의 관계를 완전 매개하는 것으 로 나타났으며, 건강 관련 삶의 질 변량의 36%를 설명하였다. Sobel 검정을 통해 매개효과의 통계적 유의성이 확인되었 고(Z=3.36, p<.001), 건강증진 행위는 유의한 매개변수임이 검증되었다. 노인의 건강 관련 삶의 질을 향상하기 위해서는 e헬스 리터러시 수준을 고려함과 동시에 건강증진 행위를 촉진하기 위한 실천적인 전략이 병행되어야 할 것이다.
