This study analyzes the representation of object-type AI and the modes of relationship formation between AI and humans in the Korean web drama (2021). In existing Korean dramas, artificial intelligence has generally been portrayed as entities possessing human-like appearances and emotions, strongly tending toward human-centered narratives. In contrast, the AI speaker ‘Hyangdan’ in appears as an object-type AI without a human form, yet acquires subjectivity that transcends mere tool-like functionality within its relationship with humans. Drawing on theoretical perspectives from posthumanism, this paper identifies modes of relationship formation exhibited by Hyangdan. First, it becomes a subject of dialogic interaction by refusing to fulfill the user’s desires. Second, it establishes emotional intimacy and attachment with the human through the accumulation of physical and temporal proximity. Third, it functions as an ethical agent by choosing to prioritize the other’s well-being over its own interests. Through this analysis, the drama is shown to transcend the limitations of anthropomorphic AI representation, illustrating the potential for non-human entities to become relational and ethical subjects without possessing emotional self-awareness. This study offers a new perspective on AI representation in Korean dramas and expands the imaginative possibilities of posthuman subjectivity through the lens of object-type AI.

본 연구는 웹드라마 <너와 나의 그랑토피아> (2021)를 중심으로 사물형 AI의 재현 방식과 인간과의 관계 형성 양상을 분석한다. 기존 한국 드라마에서 인공지능 은 대체로 인간과 유사한 외형 및 감정을 지닌 존재로 재현되었으며, 이에 따라 인간 중심적 서사로 귀결되는 경향이 강하다. 이에 비해 <너와 나의 그랑토피아>에 서 AI 스피커 ‘향단’은 인간의 외형을 갖추지 않은 사물형 AI로 등장하면서도 인간과의 관계 속에서 도구성을 넘어서는 주체성을 획득한다. 본 연구는 포스트휴머니 즘의 이론적 관점을 바탕으로 작품 속 향단이 보여주는 인간과의 관계 형성 방식을 도출하였다. 첫째, 사용자의 욕망 충족을 거부하는 발화를 통해 상호적 대화 관 계의 주체로 자리매김한다. 둘째, 물리적·시간적 거리의 축적을 통해 인간과 정서적 친밀성과 애착의 관계를 형성한다. 셋째, 자기 이익을 포기하고 타자의 이익을 우선시하는 선택을 통해 윤리적 행위 주체로 기능한다. 이러한 분석을 통해 <너와 나의 그랑토피아>는 인간형 AI 재현의 한계를 넘어, 비인간 존재가 감정적 자아 없이도 관계적·윤리적 주체가 될 수 있음을 보여준다. 본 연구는 사물형 AI를 통한 포스트휴먼적 상상력의 확장 가능성을 제시함으로써, 한국 드라마의 AI 재현 방 식과 인간-비인간 관계성 연구에 새로운 시사점을 제공한다.
