The purpose of this paper is to examine the praise ritual(纂述) of composing CheongguYadam by revealing the aspects(評) and characteristics of the reviews described in CheongguYadam. The problem of discussion is that the CheongguYadam has been reorganized(再編) in this way, but it started with the intention of finding a description that can infer the consciousness of the author within the work and examining its meaning. In fact, some of the works of the CheongguYadam contain clues that allow us to infer the consciousness of the author. That is the commentary written at the end of the work. For this study, the four previously published collections of Yadam and the Korean version of CheongguYadam were examined as research subjects. As a result of analyzing the aspects of the reviews of the five collections of Yadam and CheongguYadam, it was found that the author attempted to delete the reviews in general, but in some works they kept them as they were, and in some works in the Korean version, reviews were added or changed. The author attempted to delete narratives that directly exposed the original author, narratives that were clearly in the form of commentary, and narratives that questioned the morality of characters and events or involved subjective value judgments while reproducing the previous tales. However, there was a tendency to maintain the narrative evaluation that praised the person's deeds of filial piety, loyalty, and chastity, or that involved the rite of heavenly decrees(天定) . In particular, in the Korean version, the meaning was further emphasized through additions and changes. A clear difference between the Chinese and Korean versions of the narrative commentary is that the Korean version deletes the final part of the story, which is not a commentary, and considers any subsequent story that deviates from the single event unfolding as unnecessary. The Chinese version of CheongguYadam had an ending that looked into the character's distant future, while the Korean version had an ending that focused only on present events. In short, the author of CheongguYadam tried to re-emphasize or confirm the generalized Confucian ideology of the real world through the work. This is even more evident when compared to the Korean version, where the author of CheongguYadamm actively raised the issue of the morality of the characters in the work and attempted to bring about change. The important topic for the author in writing CheongguYadam was his duty as a Confucian intellectual, and he could not abandon this.

본고의 목적은 『청구야담』에 서술된 평(評)의 양상과 특징을 밝혀, 『청구야담』의 찬술(纂述)의식을 살피는 데 있다. 『청구야담』은 19세기 중엽 이미 저술 된 전시대의 이야기가 모여 찬술된 야담집이다. 논의의 문제의식은 이렇게 재편(再編)된 『청구야담』이지만, 작품 중 찬자의식을 추정할 수 있는 서술 을 찾고, 그 의미를 살피겠다는 데서 시작하였다. 실제 『청구야담』의 일부 작품에 그 의식을 유추할 수 있는 단서가 남아 있다. 바로 작품 마지막 부 분에 서술된 평이다. 이 연구를 위해, 전재한 전대 야담집 4종과 한글본 『청구야담』을 연구대상으로 살폈다. 5종의 야담집과 『청구야담』 평의 양상을 분석한 결과, 찬자는 작품 전반에서 평을 삭제했지만, 일부는 평을 그대로 유지했고, 한글본 작품의 일부는 오히려 추가·변개하기도 했다. 찬자는 전 시대 야담을 전재하며 원저자가 직접 노출된 서술, 논평 형식이 분명한 서 술, 인물·사건의 도덕성에 문제를 제기하거나 주관적 가치 판단이 개입된 서술은 삭제하고자 했다. 그러면서도 효·충·열에 관한 인물 행적을 기리거 나, 천정(天定)의식이 개입된 서술평은 그대로 유지한 경향이 있다. 특히 한 글본에서는 추가·변개되며 그 의미가 더욱 강조되기도 했다. 한문본과 한글 본 서술평의 분명한 구분점이라면, 이야기 마지막 부분의 후일담을 한글본 은 삭제했다는 점이다. 전개된 단일 사건에서 벗어난 뒷이야기를 불필요하 게 여겼던 것이다. 한문본 『청구야담』은 인물의 먼 미래까지 전망한 결말이 었고, 한글본은 현재 사건에만 집중한 결말이었다. 요컨대, 『청구야담』의 찬 자는 현실세계의 일반화된 유가이념은 작품을 통해 다시 강조하거나 확인 하고자 하였다. 한글본과 비교했을 때 더욱 분명한 지점으로, 『청구야담』의 찬자는 작품 속 인물의 도덕성 문제를 때론 적극적으로 제기하며, 변화를 바라는 시도도 하였다. 찬자가 『청구야담』을 저술함에 중요했던 화두는 역시 유가적 지식인으로의 소임이었고, 이를 방기할 수 없었던 것이다.
