The purpose of this study is to evaluate the appropriateness of chest compressions in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) scenes depicted in Korean medical dramas that ranked first and second in highest viewer ratings from 2021 to 2024. As a result of assessing the quality of chest compressions in a total of 34 CPR scenes performed on 23 patients, the item with the highest evaluation was vertical arm posture (85.3%), while the item with the lowest evaluation was compression depth (20.6%). Regarding the demographic characteristics of cardiac arrest patients, only one of the 23 patients was female, indicating a significant gender imbalance. Based on the results of this study, to maximize the effectiveness of indirect CPR training through mass media such as TV dramas, it is essential to produce videos demonstrating correct CPR performance with the guidance of medical professionals.

본 연구 목적은 2021년부터 2024년까지 매년 최고 시청률 1, 2위를 기록한 국내 의학드라마에 표현된 심폐소생술 장면을 대상으로 가슴압박의 적정성을 평가하는 것이다. 심폐소생술 장면이 있는 6개 드라마 중 23명의 환자에게 시행한 총 34례의 심폐소생술 장면을 대상으로 분석한 결과, 고품질 가슴압박에 대한 평가항목 중 가장 적절한 것으로 평가된 항목은 팔의 수직 자세(85.3%)였고, 가장 부적절한 것으로 평가된 항목은 가슴압박 깊이(20.6%)였다. 드라마 속 심장정지 환자의 사회인구학적 특성과 관련하여 총 23명의 환자 중 단 한 명만이 여성으로 확인되어 심장정지 환자 성별의 편향성이 관찰되었다. 본 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 드라마와 같은 대중매체를 통한 심폐소생술 간접교육의 효과를 극대화하기 위해 의학적 자문 과정을 통하여 올바른 심폐소생술 영상이 제작될 필요가 있다.
