This study was limited to the untying of knots using rescue ropes, and the experiment was conducted on five experimental subjects. After untying the hook knot, double hook knot, figure-8 knot, and double figure-8 knot, the speed and convenience of each were analyzed. The results of analyzing the fastest and most convenient methods for untying rope hook knots are as follows. The hook knot and double hook knot took a considerable amount of time, at 67.40 and 38.20 seconds, respectively. The figure-8 knot took 14.60 seconds, and the double figure-8 knot took 8.60 seconds, which were significantly lower. This seems to be because the loop was large and not tightly tightened when tying the double rope in the shape of a figure-8, making it easy to untie the rope. The hook knot was the most difficult, at 1.40, and the double figure-8 knot was the most convenient, at 9.40. The double figure-8 knot seems to be easier for the test subject to release the rope because the rope is wrapped around one more time than the sling knot, making the knotted portion of the rope larger. The double figure-8 knot is considered to be the most appropriate method of knotting that allows for quick recovery of the rope.
