This study examined how family health affects the life satisfaction of married adults with developmental disabilities, and whether disability acceptance plays a mediating role in this relationship. The findings underscore the need for family-based interventions in policies and practices supporting families of individuals with developmental disabilities. Moreover, the study provides foundational data for developing counseling programs, social services, and policy frameworks that incorporate disability acceptance. For this purpose, the study utilized data from the fourth wave of the Panel Survey of Employment for the Disabled (PSED). The sample consisted of 511 married adults with developmental disabilities who were surveyed at the time of data collection. The results revealed three key findings. First, family health had a significant positive effect on life satisfaction. Second, family health was positively associated with disability acceptance, which in turn significantly affected life satisfaction. Third, disability acceptance was found to partially mediate the relationship between family health and life satisfaction.These results suggest that in order to improve the life satisfaction of married individuals with developmental disabilities, it is essential to strengthen both family functioning and psychological acceptance of disability through integrated interventions.

본 연구는 기혼 발달장애인을 대상으로 가족건강성이 삶의 만족도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 살펴보고, 이 과정에서 장애수용이 매개역할을 하는지를 분석하였다. 본 연구는 발달장애 가정을 위한 정책 및 실천현장에서 가족단 위 개입의 필요성을 강조하며, 장애수용을 포함한 상담 및 프로그램 개발, 정책적 사회적 지원체계 구축의 기초자료로 서 중요한 의의를 지닌다. 이를 위해 본 연구 방법으로 장애인 삶 패널조사 4차 자료를 활용하였다. 조사대상자는 조 사 시점에 결혼한 성인 발달장애인 511명을 표본으로 선택하였다. 연구 결과 첫째, 기혼 발달장애인의 가족 건강성은 삶의 유의한 정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 기혼 발달장애인의 가족건강성은 장애수용에 영향을 미쳤고, 장애수용 또한 삶의 만족도에 유의미한 영향을 미쳤다. 셋째, 장애수용은 가족건강성과 삶의 만족도 간의 관계에서 부 분 매개효과를 가지는 것으로 확인되었다. 그러므로 기혼 발달장애인의 삶의 만족도를 향상시키기 위해서는 가족의 기 능적 건강성을 강화하는 동시에 장애수용을 증진시키는 개입이 병행되어야 함을 시사한다.
