The purpose of this study is to explore the experiences and meanings of call-coaching counseling conducted by juvenile probation officers. To this end, in-depth interviews or open-ended questionnaires were administered to eight juvenile probation officers with prior experience in call-coaching counseling. The qualitative data collected were analyzed inductively using qualitative content analysis, resulting in structured findings organized into meaning units, categories, and domains. The analysis identified three domains: the client domain, the officer domain, and the structural environment domain. The ten categories encompassed: characteristics of clients with long-term and complex problems; lack of emotional support and care; limitations due to insufficient counseling expertise; absence of skills to respond to crisis situations; expectations regarding counseling outcomes; psychological burnout and emotional burden; circumstances in which time constraints limited counseling access; experiences in which interventions were hindered by a lack of necessary resources; difficulties in intervention due to family-related factors; and institutional challenges associated with socio-structural risk factors. Based on these findings, implications were discussed regarding the directions for counseling interventions in the context of juvenile probation and the enhancement of counseling professionalism among juvenile probation officers.

본 연구의 목적은 소년보호관찰 담당관이 수행한 콜코칭 상담 경험과 그 의미를 탐색하는 것이다. 이를 위해 콜코칭 상담 경험 이 있는 소년보호관찰 담당관 8명을 대상으로, 면담 또는 개방형 설문을 실시하였다. 수집된 질적 자료는 질적내용분석의 방법에 따라 귀납적으로 분석하여 의미단위, 범주, 영역으로 구조화된 결과를 도출하였다. 연구 결과로 도출된 세 가지 영역은 대상자, 담당관, 구조적 환경으로 구분되었다. 10가지 범주에는 장기적이 고 복합적인 문제를 지닌 대상자 특성, 정서적 지지와 돌봄의 결 핍, 상담전문성 부족의 한계, 위기 상황에 대한 대처 기술의 부 재, 상담효과에 대한 기대, 심리적 소진 및 정서적 부담, 시간부 족으로 상담 접근이 제한된 상황, 필요한 자원이 부족해 개입이 어려웠던 경험, 가정요인으로 인한 개입의 어려움, 사회구조적 위험요소에 대한 제도적 어려움의 내용이 포함되었다. 이러한 결 과를 토대로 소년보호관찰 맥락에서의 상담 개입 방향성과 소년 보호관찰 담당자의 상담 전문성 측면에서 시사점을 논의하였다.
