This study conducts a quantitative analysis of metadata from fantasy web novels published on major web novel platforms in South Korea and Japan. Focusing on submission trends, subgenre distribution, and keyword and plot patterns, the research examines how platform structures influence the formation, arrangement, and consumption of fantasy narratives. In terms of submission trends, Korean platforms showed greater fluctuations depending on their curation models and institutional changes, whereas Japanese platforms, despite being based on open submissions, demonstrated different flows of content based on strategies such as contests and print publication opportunities. Subgenre analysis revealed that while Korean platforms featured a high proportion of hybrid narratives such as romance fantasy and modern fantasy, Japanese platforms were heavily dominated by isekai-type stories, resulting in limited diversity within the fantasy genre. The analysis of keywords and plot summaries further revealed that each platform favored specific narrative elements and modes of emotional appeal, and that platform structures significantly affected the internal construction of texts. These findings suggest that web novel platforms function not merely as distribution channels, but as frameworks that actively shape and organize narrative content. Even within a shared genre, the structure and reception of stories vary significantly depending on the platform. As a comparative study across multiple platforms in Korea and Japan, this research provides a foundational reference for further cultural analyses of narrative structures in East Asian popular literature. Future studies may expand upon this by incorporating analyses of verbal expressions (verbs and adjectives) and non-textual elements such as cover illustrations.

본 연구는 한일 주요 웹소설 플랫폼에서 연재된 판타지 작품의 메타데이터를 기반으로, 투고수 변화, 세부 장르 분포, 키워드 및 줄거리 경향을 정량적으로 분석 하여 각 플랫폼의 운영 구조가 판타지 서사의 형성과 정렬, 소비 방식에 어떤 영향 을 미치는지를 비교･고찰하였다. 투고수 분석에서는 한국 플랫폼이 큐레이션 방식과 제도 변화에 따라 변동폭이 컸던 반면, 일본은 자유 투고 기반 아래에서도 공모전과 서적화 전략에 따라 투고 흐름이 달라지는 양상을 보였다. 장르 분포에서는 한국이 로맨스판타지･현대판타 지를 포함한 복합 서사의 비중이 높은 반면, 일본은 이세계 계열에 편중되어 판타 지 내부 다양성이 제한적으로 나타났다. 키워드 및 줄거리 분석에서는 각 플랫폼 이 선호하는 서사 요소와 감정 소구 방식, 유통 전략이 뚜렷하게 반영되었으며, 플랫폼 구조가 텍스트 내부 구조에도 유의미한 영향을 미치고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 이를 통해 플랫폼은 단순한 유통 통로를 넘어 서사를 조직하는 틀로 작동하며, 동일한 장르라 하더라도 플랫폼에 따라 이야기의 구성과 독자 반응의 방식이 달라 질 수 있음을 보여준다. 본 연구는 한일 플랫폼 다수를 대상으로 비교 분석한 시도 로서 동아시아 대중서사의 서사 구조를 문화적 맥락 속에서 분석하는 후속 연구의 기초자료가 될 수 있을 것이다. 동사･형용사 등 행위 어휘와 표지 일러스트 같은 텍스트 외적 정보까지 포함하는 복합적 분석은 향후 과제로 남겨둔다.
