The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of cafe background music on consumer seat occupancy. This study is conducted under the hypothesis that cafe background music is important. The researcher utilized the following research methods to achieve the purpose of the study. First, ○ ○ Coffee Shop in Yulha, Gimhae, Gyeongnam was selected as the experimental site and consumers visiting the coffee shop were the subjects. Second, 75 songs from five genres (jazz, dance, hip-hop, old pop, and ballad) were selected as cafe background music. Third, the effect on seat occupancy was analyzed by gender, music genre, and cafe menu. The results of the analysis are as follows: First, in the comparison by gender of consumers visiting the cafe, there were significantly more female consumers than male consumers. Second, in the comparison by music genre, many consumers occupied seats in the order of jazz > dance > hip-hop > old pop = ballad. Therefore, it was diagnosed that maintaining jazz as background music at ○○ Coffee Shop in Yulha, Gimhae, Gyeongnam had a significant effect on consumer seat occupancy. Meanwhile, when comparing cafe menus, Americano was ordered far more often than other menus.

이 연구의 목적은 카페 배경음악이 소비자 좌석점유에 미치는 영향을 진단하는 것이다. 이 연 구는 카페 배경음악이 중요하다는 가설 아래 시행된다. 연구자는 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해 다음과 같은 연구방법을 활용하였다. 첫째, 경남 김해 율하의 ○○커피점을 실험 장소로 선택하 였고 해당 커피점을 방문하는 소비자를 그 대상으로 하였다. 둘째, 카페 배경음악을 5개의 장르 (재즈, 댄스, 힙합, 올드팝, 발라드)의 75개의 곡을 선정하였다. 셋째, 소비자를 성별, 음악 장르별, 카페 메뉴별로 좌석점유에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 이에 따른 분석 결과는 첫째, 카페를 방문 하는 소비자의 성별에 따른 비교는 여성 소비자가 남성 소비자보다 월등히 더 많았다. 둘째, 음악 장르에 따른 비교는 재즈 > 댄스 > 힙합 > 올드팝 = 발라드 순서로 많은 소비자들이 좌석을 점유 하였다. 이에 경남 김해 율하의 ○○커피점에서는 재즈를 배경음악으로 유지하는 것이 소비자의 좌석점유에 유의미한 영향을 끼치는 것이라고 진단되었다. 한편, 카페 메뉴에 따른 비교는 아메 리카노를 주문한 경우가 타 메뉴에 비해 월등하게 많았다.
