Climate fiction(Cli-Fi), which has emerged rapidly along with the ‘great acceleration’ of the climate crisis, is attracting attention as a literary genre and global concern. This study represents the first systematic analysis of climate fiction research trends in China to be introduced to the Korean academic community. Furthermore, based on the common interest of climate fiction, it is expected to serve as an opportunity for academic and cultural exchanges between Korea and China. This study targeted 53 papers contained in CNKI in China. Quantitative analysis was performed on the current status of research by year, current status of key researchers, and publication of papers, and qualitative analysis was performed in parallel on the main discussions and contents. Although still in its early stages, the field has shown notable growth since 2020 and 2023. Leading scholars such as Jiang Lifu, Yuan Yuan, and Sun Xijia have contributed significantly, with research appearing in journals like “Contemporary Foreign Literature,” “Journal of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies,” and “Journal of Poyang Lake,” Studies typically focus on three areas: genre theory, foreign climate fiction, and Chinese climate fiction. The academic quality of the research can be assessed to be secured above a certain level given the proportion of CSSCI-listed papers and the degree of participation of researchers with associate professors or higher. However, limitations persist in this field, including weak academic foundations, ambiguous conceptualization of climate fiction, and singular research scope and methodologies. To address these challenges, it is essential to strengthen the academic foundations, systematically develop a conceptual framework for climate fiction, and diversify research approaches. If we move in this direction, Chinese climate novel will be able to raise awareness of climate change and establish itself as a key medium leading to substantial change.

기후 위기의 ‘대가속’과 함께 급부상한 기후소설(Cli-Fi)은 하나의 문학 장르이자 세 계적인 관심사로 주목받고 있다. 본 연구는 중국 내 기후소설 연구 동향을 분석하고, 이를 한국 학계에 소개하는 첫 시도로서 의의가 있다. 더불어 기후소설이라는 공동의 관심사를 바탕으로, 한중 간 학문 및 문화 교류의 계기가 될 수 있기를 기대한다. 본 연구는 중국 CNKI에 수록된 53편의 논문을 연구 대상으로 삼았다. 연도별 연구 현황, 핵심 연구자 현황, 논문 게재 현황에 대한 양적 분석을 수행하고, 주요 논의 및 내 용에 대해 질적 분석을 병행하였다. 분석 결과, 중국 내 기후소설 연구는 시작 단계에 있 지만, 2020년과 2023년을 기점으로 양적·질적 성장을 보였고, 주요 연구자로는 姜礼福, 袁源, 孙希佳 등이 있다. 연구 성과는 『当代外国⽂学』, 『广东外语外贸⼤学学报』, 『鄱阳湖学刊』등 다양한 학술지에 게재되었고, 연구 내용은 장르 연구, 외국 기후소설 연구, 중국 기후소설 연구의 세 가지 방향으로 전개되었다. CSSCI 등재지 게재 비중과 부교수 이상 연구자의 참여 정도를 볼 때 해당 연구의 학문적 질은 일정 수준 이상으로 확보되고 있다고 평가할 수 있으나 학문적 기반이 취약하고, 기후소설의 개념이 모호 하며, 연구 범위와 방법이 단일하다는 한계가 있다. 이런 문제를 해결하기 위해서는 기 후소설 연구를 위한 학문 생태 조성, 개념 정립, 연구의 범위와 방법론을 확대하는 노력 이 필요하다. 이런 방향으로 나아간다면, 중국 기후소설은 기후 변화에 대한 인식을 높 이고, 실질적 변화를 이끄는 핵심 매개체로 자리매김할 수 있을 것이다.
