China has been continuously striving to enhance its cultural identity and boost its competitiveness in the global cultural market by integrating elements of traditional Chinese ethnic music with contemporary popular music as part of its efforts to expand its cultural industry internationally. However, previous studies have predominantly focused on content creators, with relatively little analysis of the responses and perceptions of actual audiences. To address this gap, the present study analyzes cases of music that combine tradition and modernity from a music-theoretical perspective to identify the characteristics of such fusion music. Additionally, a survey was conducted with 253 Chinese university students to empirically examine audience perceptions of culture and their attitudes toward the acceptance of this music. The results indicate that the use of the pentatonic scale and traditional instruments positively influences the recognition of cultural identity and evokes emotional responses. Statistically significant correlations were also found between music preference, cultural receptivity, and openness. This study aims to provide both a theoretical foundation and practical direction for the creation and popularization of fusion music in the future.

중국은 문화 산업의 국제적 확장을 추진하는 과정에서, 중국 민족 전통음악 요소와 현대 대중음악을 결합함으로써 문화적 정체성을 강화하고 글로벌 문화 시장에서의 경 쟁력을 제고하려는 시도를 지속해왔다. 하지만 선행 연구들에서는 콘텐츠 제작자 중심 의 논의가 주를 이루어, 실제 수용자의 반응과 인식에 대한 분석은 상대적으로 부족하 였다. 이에 본 연구는 전통과 현대가 결합된 음악 사례 분석을 통해 음악이론적 시각에 서 융합 음악의 특징을 도출하고, 중국 대학생 253명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시함으 로써 수용자의 문화 인식 및 수용 태도를 실증적으로 고찰하였다. 그 결과, 오성음계 및 전통 악기의 활용이 문화 정체성에 대한 인식을 강화하고 정서적 반응을 이끌어내 는 데 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 음악 선호도, 문화 수용성, 개방성과 의 사이에서 통계적으로 유의미한 상관관계가 도출되었다. 본 연구는 향후 융합 음악 의 창작 실천과 대중화 경로에 대한 이론적 근거와 실천적 방향을 제시하고자 하였다.
