This study explores the educational growth process of 10 pre-service elementary teachers who participated in physical education volunteer activities in Vietnam. The findings reveal that the pre-service teachers gained a deeper understanding of the learning attitudes and cultural background of Vietnamese elementary students, allowing them to adjust their teaching methods to facilitate a more comfortable and engaging learning experience. Additionally, they effectively implemented multi-modal teaching strategies to overcome language barriers and demonstrated adaptability by designing creative alternative activities in limited educational environments. Furthermore, they applied differentiated instruction based on students' grade levels and learning abilities while recognizing the importance of respecting cultural differences and embracing their responsibilities as educators in multicultural settings. These experiences provided valuable opportunities for pre-service teachers to develop effective teaching strategies applicable to diverse educational contexts. Future research should focus on enhancing the effectiveness of education in multicultural settings by deepening the understanding and practical application of multi-modal teaching methods. It is also recommended to incorporate simulation activities that allow pre-service teachers to experience and prepare for the constraints of local school facilities and educational resources in advance.

본 연구는 베트남 체육 교육봉사활동에 참여한 10명의 초등 예비교사들의 교육적 성장 과정을 탐구하였다. 탐구 결과, 예비교사들은 베트남 초등학생들의 학습 태도와 문화를 이해하며, 학생들이 더욱 편안하게 체육 활동에 참 여할 수 있도록 교수법을 조정하는 경험을 하였다. 또한, 언어적 장벽이 있는 환경에서도 효과적인 수업 운영을 위해 멀티모달(multi-modal) 교수법을 실천하였으며, 제한된 교육 환경에서도 창의적인 대체 활동을 설계하고 조정하는 유연성을 길렀다. 이와 함께, 학년과 수준을 고려한 맞춤형 교육을 실천하며, 문화적 차이를 존중하고 다문화 환경에서 교육자로서 책임감을 갖는 것이 필수적이라는 점을 깨닫게 되었다. 이러한 경험들은 예비교사 들이 다양한 교육 환경에서도 효과적인 교수법을 적용할 수 있는 중요한 기회가 되었다. 후속 연구에서는 다문 화 환경에서의 교육 효과성을 높이기 위한 전략으로 멀티모달 교수법에 대한 심층적인 이해와 실전 적용이 필요 하며, 사전에 현지 학교 시설과 교육 자원의 한계를 미리 경험할 수 있는 시뮬레이션 활동을 포함하는 방안을 고려할 것을 제안한다.
